carroll howard johnson environmental park

The Carroll Howard Environmental Park is located on the very southern tip of Fuquay Varina at 301 Wagstaff Road. It is a natural wooded park of about 30 acres. There are several nature trails with small bridges to view the babbling creek. It is a most serene spot to watch various birds or just relax! The park also has two miles of walking trails, a picnic shelter, an amphitheater and restrooms near the parking lot. At times, the restrooms may be locked.The park land was donated by the late Fuquay Varina Mayor Alfred Johnson in honor of his wife, Carroll Howard Johnson.

Easily accessible trails, good parking, new trail signs, ample trail markers, tolerable bathrooms on site. Great to have in FV!

We have a wonderful park down the street from us. We can walk to it, bike to it or drive to it. They have plenty of parking except if they are having a special event. The trails are paved for walking, running, biking and walking your dog. They have bathrooms there and some antique buildings on the properity.
