rankin lake park

This is an amazing park that is destroyed by the constant gunfire. Nothing like getting to a beautiful lake park to enjoy the nature and all you hear is what sounds like a war zone. There is a shooting range right in the Park and IT NEVER STOPS!! Don't go to this place, its not nature.

Many years ago my family frequented this park. Things got out of hand there some years back, and very few visitors attended. Well, the government did something about it and now we have one of the most beautiful public spaces in several counties. Walking trail around the lake...which used to be the city's water supply; picnic areas; places for the kids to play. Super improvement. Finally, tax money well spent. Well worth the time to visit.

This place was booming 40 years ago, then the city pretty much neglected it for a long time. It was recently refurbished with a walking trail around the lake and several fishing piers. There are also paddle boats and canoes available for rental. Several large shelters for family or church gatherings. Downside: there is a public shooting range nearby so don't be surprised if you hear gunfire off in the distance. NO DANGER TO VISITORS!!!!

It's hard not to like a park with a lake. I loved just sitting by the water as time slipped away. Very peaceful and relaxing.

My wife and I like to go walk at Rankin Lake Park. The park has had a major facelift over the last few years. There are picnic tables, a children's play area, walking / running track, permit fishing, and a boat rental area. Access to the park is easy off of Hwy 321 near I-85 (North of I-85). Take the kids and enjoy yourself at Rankin Lake Park!

This is the 2nd year that the Baugh, Gallagher, Gardner family reunion was held at Rankin Lake Park. We had the main building / clubhouse. All facilities are well kept up and there are plenty of activities here to include paddle boating, canoeing, Horseshoe pits, walking around the lake, fishing, frisbee golf, areas to play football and outdoor cooking. Wonderful location for families to enjoy each other.....

This park used to be very run down and neglected, I would not venture there comfortable because of the people that hung there. The city has dona an amazing job revitalizing this park. There are paddle boats to rent , canoes , row boats even some with motors. There is a nice paved walking trail around the lake and a playground for the kids. Check it out!

It's just a beautiful park. Entrance is free but there water sports have a small cost. Picnic tables but you may have to reserve.

This park is amazing.. i really like it and go there more often since it's now remodeled! The lake is beautiful, and th trail that surrounds it is a workout! the environment and people are friendly! they have fishing and paddle boats!

Beautiful newly refurbished park, with fishing, boat rentals, paved hiking trail around lake, disk golf picnic shelters. Spend an hour or all day. Nice new facilities family oriented. Two large docks for fishing and one stretch of bank reserved for fishing. Rent paddle boats, canoes, jon boats with trolling motors. Very reasonable.
