hawksbill mountain trail

The day we hiked this trail, it was horribly hot & humid but very enjoyable with a good sense of accomplishment!

A place everyone should see, magnificent views of a very rugged landscape. A bit of a challenging hike, but well worth it.

I love hiking along the Blue Ridge Parkway and in the Boone / Blowing Rock area. This is the BEST view of any hike I have done. 360 degree view at the top looking many miles in each direction. Great view down into Linville Gorge and you can hear (but not see) the falls in the distance.

The trail is about .7 mile up and mildly difficult. But the views of the gorge and points north and south are very rewarding. Very cool different niches on the summit here and a great photo op. Good to combine this with Spence Ridge Trail to the bridge on the linville river to get a good top to bottom perspective. (Without exhausting yourself)

Wonderful views after a moderate hike to the top! Great backup when Table Rock parking area is closed.

Strenuous climb up but well worth the views!! Careful during the winter, ice and snow on the ground make it a lot harder and a bit slippery on the way down. I wouldn't recommend it for small children as it is such a hard climb.
