This is our second visit to Silver Coast winery and both gentleman in charge of the tastings were very knowledgeable. Great local art work along with cookbooks and jewelry available for purchase. Definitely worth a visit. Did I mention that the wine was good too?
Silver Coast Winery is a bit off the beaten path, but if you are visiting any of the South Brunswick Islands (Oak Island, Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, or Sunset Beach), this is a nice break from sun and fun on the beaches. They have regular wine tastings and a very interesting gift shop. To be honest, the wines won't compare to Napa Valley, or even the North Carolina wines like Biltmore in western NC, but they are ok. The winery festivals are very much fun, check their schedule for dates and times. Be sure to have a good map of the area to find it. We visit the winery two or three times a year. You'll enjoy it.
local winery, with second location (wine tasting) in Southport. Local art work is showcased and other events thought-out the month. wines are good and reasonably priced.
My husband and I visited Silver Coast on our winter break. The employee who did our wine tasting was really friendly and spent time chatting and telling us about the various wines. A nice way to spend the afternoon.
This was our first trip to Silver Coast Vineyard and we had a blast. Al the guy who makes the wine walked us through the wine tasting and he is a great conversationalist as is Chris. We had a great time and the wine is good, reasonable prices and offers tours. If you like to visit wineries this is a must stop, plan on making it one of our annual stops when in Myrtle Beach.
Fun tasting at BBQ joint turned winery. We made point to visit on recommendation of friends and were not disappointed. Great gift ideas as well, with added bonus they appear to feature local artists and crafts. Our tastes were expertly poured by Nick, who was attentive as well as very knowledgeable not only of the wines, but of the particular grapes and winemaking process. A charity event was being held in their event rooms, but that didn't stop them from letting wandering tourists like us stop in and be treated with as much attention as we desired. We will be back next time in the area.
We stopped here on a self guided winery tour in the area. The service was excellent and the wines were good. This obviously not Napa but a very nice place to stop in the area if you are into wine...
Just returned from our trip to North Carolina. Loved this winery and it's employees. Wine selection was great we returned with 2 bottles. Great items for sale not just wine! Would visit again.
We enjoyed our experience as wedding guests here a lot. The grounds were well-groomed, and the Barrel Room was a surprisingly nice interior reception space. The wine was good, and the food was excellent. Definitely a diamond in the rough in its fairly isolated location inland off 17.
My husband and I arrived about 15 minutes before closing, and they were kind enough to let us do a tasting anyway. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting. The winery is definitely well off the beaten path, but is homey and warm. It's $6 to do a tasting.
Fun times there with good wine and good music. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to make your visit enjoyable.
On a very rainy day at Ocean Isle beach, we wandered into Silver Coast Winery. It was a fun 45 minutes of wine tasting and shopping the eclectic and artistic collection. There aren't really any grapes to walk through, as the grapes are brought in from Florida, but there are outside chairs and benches you can relax into. The wines are very, very good! Not the sugary sweet Muscatine wine that is prevalent throughout the state - nice and dry with a great finish. Very reasonable in terms of price, from $10-$20 for a good bottle. There are many events hosted at Silver Coast, and we sadly didn't get back. And they don't serve food during the day, so we had to leave to eat a meal. But overall I recommend a visit here! Take the kids as well - they can look through the shop and race around on the grass outside.
On a rainy Saturday we decided to visit this winery and found it to be a little gem near the beach. The drive there from Sunset Beach was short and offered a bit of pleasant rural scenery. It's a rutted, "washboard" road, but that only serves to slow you down so you can enjoy your surroundings. We don't know a lot about wine, but we enjoy drinking it, so how could we go wrong? The staff was inviting, friendly and put no pressure on us…in fact. we could have simply enjoyed the surroundings and not even sampled the wine! There was a nice crowd there, but it didn't feel crowded we weren't rushed in any way. This is more than a winery. It's a wonderful venue for local artists. You can sample up to five wines or you can have a whole glass of wine for $5. We chose to each have a glass. The staff encouraged us to walk around and see the art, all of which is for sale. The gift shop is charming and full of unique wine-related items. There is ample seating if you wish to sit, sip and take in the art. We didn't tour the winery, but tours are available. We didn't explore the outside, but we saw that there is a pleasant outside area and a stage for outside performances. We bought one bottle of wine which was reasonably priced at $15. We wonder why it's taken us so long to visit this little gem!
WLowe,Thank you for stopping and and taking the time to review us. We are lucky to have a great team. Being the winery at the beach meant we had to make some trade offs, so no caverns or rolling hills of vineyards, but we strive to make excellent wines and make the experience fun for everyone. We frequently have special events, so check out our website or Facebook page to see what we have going on next time you are in town.Cheers,Rebecca
Hi Cheryl,Thank you for taking the time to write a review. This is my family business. We are a small family owned and operated Winery. We make European Style wines that tend to go from dry to semi-sweet with and a dessert wine. I am sorry that they were not to your taste, but I am very proud to say that we have won national and international awards for all of our wines. Next time you are in the area, you should try Grapeful Sisters Winery, they make muscadine wines that are much sweeter than ours. Also, in North Myrtle Beach is La Belle Amie Vineyards who make the sweeter muscadines as well. We frequently have events, so next time you are around, we would love to have you stop in.Cheers,Rebecca
