I had signed both of our kids (son 12 and daughter 9) up for surf camp, and they loved every minute of it. My daughter was a little apprehensive about it, so one of their amazing instructors took her under her wing and worked with her to build her confidence. Both kids had an amazing time and wanted to do a private lesson on Friday (camp runs Mon-Thur), but the weather didn't cooperate. All of the instructors were great with the kids no matter what their experience level. Both of mine had never surfed before and were standing up by the end. They've already said they can't wait to do it this year. Definitely signing them up again!

Great teacher and experience for the first time I tried surfing. Definitely going to do it again. Can't say there was anything I disliked.

Had an amazing experience with Carolina School of Surf. Took a group lesson, it was very affordable and extremely helpful. Group sizes were small and the instructor was incredibly knowledgable and helpful. He gave amazing tips and excellent words of encouragement. After an informative land session, we spent a huge majority of our time in the ocean, which was amazing. I was up by my second try close to the shore and then soon after as we moved out into the ocean and the waves. I loved it so much that I am renting a board from them to try it on my own. Excellent, would absolutely recommend!

My 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son participated in surf camp last week. I have never seen my daughter get out of bed so quickly as she did each morning of camp! Lee did an awesome job of motivating the kids, keeping them all involved and making sure each one felt special. They learned not only the art of surfing; but also great tips on rip currents, jellyfish, marine life and etiquette. A special thanks to Nick for his extra effort during camp- my kids were constantly talking about the tips they got to help them do better after riding a wave. They are already talking about next year!

The Powell brothers have done a great job finding the best and coolest surfers in OIB to teach surfing at this camp. Not only pf they live to surf but they also really enjoy being with kids. This is a must do in ocean isle beach.

Our 15 year old daughter and 9 year old son had a private lesson with the Carolina School of Surf in Ocean isle NC. Lee and his instructors were AMAZING! Lee's energy and personality were only out done by his professionalism. I can't swim and Lee makes ME(the Mom) want to take a surfing lesson. Our children were riding the waves to the shore within the first 25 minutes. By the way they had never touched a surf board before this lesson. We are coming back next Summer just to be a part of his camp. Don't wait, run and take a class!

My son Andrew had a great week in surf camp thanks to Lee and his team of instructors. ALL the instructors were outstanding they were very helpful and polite, my son learned a lot this week. I wanted to personally thank Jackson who helped my son tremendously. The instructors provided a FUN and most of all safe environment. We highly recommend this school for camp or lessons. You won't be disappointed!

Signed my teenage daughter up for private lesson. She loved it. Instructor was great. Would recommend this for anyone going to the beach.

We had signed our 4 teen age girls up for their first experience at surfing. I was a bit hesitant at first about this as it said "group lesson" on the beach and about 1.5 hrs in length. I was worried about how much time they would actually get in the water and whether there would be just 1 instructor for the whole group lesson and if they would be just tossed to trial and error on their own. When we showed up, our girls were paired with 1 other for total of 5 kids, but there were 2 instructors with our group. After a brief explanation of basic terminology and technique on the beach, most time was spent in the water and the instructors advising and help each almost every attempt.They all got up and rode several waves in. The instructors stayed in the water helping at all times. Our girls loved it and are now hooked. It exceeded our expectations and we would use them again.

My girlfriend and I had private lessons at Holden Beach for our 3 kids. 2 girls, 7 & 9 and my son 11. All the kids were surfing by the end of the lesson. My son said it was the best part of the vacation. The instructors were great!!!

This is our second year doing this camp. We also did some private lessons. My boys had a lot of fun and both of them improved a lot during the course of the week. The camp was very organized and the camp coordinator, Lee, was great about communicating with me as I had to add private lessons and change weeks. The coaches were attentive and taught to each child's skill set. This is a great place to learn to surf or work on your skills if you are just starting out!!

I am so glad we reserved a lesson while on vacation. We had 4 girls in our private lesson, each one had her own instructor. They were all very nice, and patient with them. Even my 7 year old was able to ride many waves. I wish we lived closer to put my girls in the camps. The day after the lesson we surprised them with a surf board, and for the remainder of our vacation they were practicing what they were taught. I defiantly recommend doing this while vacationing in Ocean Isle.

We had a big private group lesson scheduled during our vacation week. The team did a great job. We had five instructors for eight children (ages 7 to 14) and four adults. By the end of the session, most of the kids and a few of the adults were surfing waves in looking like pros (OK, maybe not pros, but definitely looking good). We did lots of different things during the week, but the kids almost universally said that the surfing was their favorite activity. We'll definitely do it again on our trip next year. Thanks guys!

My son went to just see if he would like to try surfing. He was hoping he would figure out if he had an interest. The very first day he was up on the board. The patience and guidance from the instructors provided him the confidence that he needed really take off and really enjoy the sport. He is starting off the summer really well and we can't say enough about all the instructors and the beach! Love it!

They were great! My daughter didn't want to leave and wanted to buy a board as soon as we left. We will do this every year! Lee was super!
