This is a unique experience which takes you back to a bygone era. The decor is GREAT! The ice cream is good. You can buy old-fashioned candy and even small meals.

There's so much to see and enjoy with all of the historic soda and music machines. Food and ice cream were memorable also.

What a dainty and unique place! We only had dessert here and I was excited about all of the different flavor sodas! I would definitely stop by this place again next time I come to the area. Maybe we will try the food next time.

The atmosphere is wonderful for business or family. Like to take out of towners here because they love to see local not chain restaurants. Food is good and the ice cream is wonderful. highly recommend a visit to Zaharakos if you are in Columbus, Indiana.

My parents came to town to visit and I could think of a better place to take my dad for his birthday than here. We only went for dessert and dined elsewhere. Not because they have bad food, we just preferred a more upscale place for dinner. My parents both got brownie sundaes. I could go on about these, but the bottom line is they are delicious! I ordered the best rootbeer float of my life; while my sister had strawberry icecream with strawberry syrup. YUM! The history of this place is incredible! The woodwork in this place is something to awe over. The old fountain they use is from the old St. Louis world fair! This place is the coolest, make sure when you go in you have them to start the music, look around, and soak up some awesome history!

This gem of a place is so much fun to come to with family and friends. They have kept the old-time look of an ice cream parlor and have a huge pipe organ that still plays music. Helpful friendly servers and just a nice place to be!

I was so excited to find this little detour on our road trip. It was so cute! We had a delicious lunch (gourmet grilled cheese, chili, and a cheeseburger) and enjoyed a soda from the fountain. We ran out of room and time for ice cream, but it all looked great!

Charming and wonderfully remodeled. Worth a visit to step back in time to a vintage ice cream parlor. Tell them it is your birthday for a surprise.

This beautifully restored establishment has many original items from when it operated decades ago. It is a true soda fountain. Sip your soda from paper straws (not plastic), Enjoy a real malt, and/or indulge in an ice cream treat such as a sundae. This is a great place for gatherings. The food menu is great as well. Holiday decorations are gorgeous. Quite a fascinating restoration. A must-see for folks who like history or who like to take a step back in time. Within walking distance of many downtown places.

The feeling of being in an original old time soda fountain. The food is always good and the architecture is a pure delite.

Lots of old time soda fountain equipment. The desk clerk at the hotel recommended the Gom with cheese sandwich. It was very tasty.

My first review was deleted and I think I was the very first review on here then coming there ever since probably when I was a newborn of course things change different owner that took a lot of time and money to restore close as possible to what the Zaharako's family had! the cheeseburger is not the same but it's close to what Lou used to make! it's like a grilled cheese with sloppy joe! There is an older lady that still is there that is not very pleasant but most of the staff is very nice! The ice cream is a little on the expensive side but it's the best in Columbus Indiana! The bottom line is it's overly expensive for the portion size and for what it is! Used to have my daughters birthdays there ever since she was little and quit having them because could not afford it no more on New Years Eve it was our tradition!

Hey, are you ANYWHERE NEAR this place? Get there quick! Bring the family, there is plenty of seating. Service is excellent with options to eat full meals in the dining room or sit at the counter and enjoy the soda fountain. You won't be disappointed!
