This hidden gem is a true local arts incubator, located in Martinsville, Indiana, just a short walk from the downtown square. The Art Sanctuary is located in a building that formerly served as the United Methodist Church. When the church moved to a new location, the Art Sanctuary of Indiana was born, providing studio space for local artists of all kinds - you'll find amazing works of fine art, porcelain painting, fiber arts, three-dimensional artworks, pottery, jewelry and more! On the Second Friday of each month, there is an Open Studio Night, from 6-9 pm. Several artists are on hand to talk about their work and often there is also a special exhibit in the main gallery, formerly the church sanctuary, which also features beautiful stained glass. The facility also offers arts classes and workshop, and the space can be rented for special events.
