Very happy our first visit was in the Fall. The trees surrounding the place was gorgeous and the reflect on the water. They had all kind of great fall decorations and food for sale too. We were visiting Indiana and a relative took us there on the way to Nashville.

Whether you are looking for Apples, Pumpkins, Ice Cream, Cider or any number of canned goods, Soup mixes, interaction with wildlife....you name it, this is the place to come during the fall months in Indiana. Sample many different types of apples, pick your own Pumpkin, get caramel apples, ice cream, hot dogs and hamburgers, hear local musical artists....the list goes on. A trip (or 2 or 3) during the fall should not be missed. And buy a jar of the spice pickled garlic. You will be back every season for more.

well, first let me start by saying that I have lived in this area for nearly sixty years and have seen this business grow from a seedling to a full fledged tourist type attraction. I doubt that it is a destination beyond the indianapolis area, but it sure draws the Fall crowds now. Maybe passerbyers going to brown county to be leaf lookers stop by! I visited this latest time on a late Sunday afternoon at about 5 pm. They close at 7 pm. There was a Celtic music festival this day until 4 pm. It was still VERY crowded but found a decent parking spot. The crowd was consistently thinning out. The inside store and restaurant were too crowded to be enjoyable. It seems the produce items are overpriced to me-19.00 for a pecan pie for example. 1.50 per adult to ride the tractor pulled wagon to the pumpkin patch plus then pay for the pumpkin....it seems like with the crowd of hundreds of people they could spring for some restroom facilities instead of PortAPotties! After all, it is not Woodstock! Ok, the experience was okay and I live so close I will visit when it is not the weekend. I suspect the store items will still be overpriced- just keep going south to brown county and Nashville to get the authentic tourist-type gouge...

Wonderful place for all ages. While you don't get to pick your own apples you can sample different ones and then choose what kind you'd like. Honey Crisp are fantastic! There is a cute gift shop and a place to get caramel apples and apple desserts. They looked yummy. The grounds are beautiful to explore. There is a petting zoo and the animals are fun to feed and watch. For a quarter you can get a handful of food and the animals love being fed. There were peacocks, goats, sheep, cow, pony and more. There is also a play area for kids. Wonderful place to spend a fall afternoon.

The landscape here is beautiful! A serene nature trail takes you around and over the lake area and covered bridge... stop to visit with the animals in the petting zoo....then on to the store, surrounded by blooming plants and flowers and filled with apples, baked goods, fresh cider and crafts. Fresh fudge and ice cream are also on the menu, if you have room. All the folks were friendly and really interested in their customers, offering slices of the different types of apples and answering any and all questions. I chose a hot apple dumpling (swimming in dumpling sauce) as my 'lunch' and washed it down with hot apple cider... so delicious! Would love to go back again.

This is not your ordinary orchard. If you come, plan on beginning your visit with an ice cream cone on one of the many benches overlooking a beautiful landscaped lake. In fact I understand that this location has been used for many weddings in the past. After your treat, then you can walk over a little bridge into the petting area, where they have a pony, calves, goats, sheep, and many more that you can, for $0.25 feed. My granddaughter loves this part! Once you and the children have fed all the animals then head over to the barn area where the kids can slide, swing, and walk through a maze. Don't worry, this maze is made for little ones, so parents can sit on a bench under one of the many shade trees and wait for their little one to come out the only entrance/exit without worry. Once the kids are satisfied, then you will want to head back into the store, where there is usually a large variety of their apples, and other fresh produce. You can also get baked goods, and you do not want to leave without some fresh cider. Also, in the fall they have pony and tractor rides, but you want to watch the newspaper or website for these special events. I promise you, once you have had apples fresh from the orchard, you will never want to buy them in the grocery store again.

Our 3-1/2 year old grandson loves Appleworks. We were there on a beautiful fall weekday, so it wasn't as crowded as it can get on weekends. The petting zoo and the tube slide were his favorites. Oh and the ride to the pumpkin patch on the tractor. And picking out a green pumpkin. And having a candied apple for snack. When it was time to leave, he said he wanted to "play for several more hours" but settled for four more trips down the slide. There's no fee for entering the property or the petting zoo (although if you want to feed the animals, take quarters) or the slide but there is a nominal fee for the tractor to the pumpkin patch and you buy the pumpkins by the pound.

Apple Works is a beautiful place to go and walk and explore and eat. The apples especially the Honey Crisp are the best around. The Brown's have worked hard to make Apple Works one of the best places to go in late summer and fall. A great place to take photo's and enjoying watching kids ride the train and pick pumpkins. Week-ends are crowded but the wait is worth it. I have been going to Apple Works for several years not only for apples and cider but Carmel apples they alone are worth the drive. Some drawbacks are restrooms an long lines. Worth the trip.

Very pretty place, but they only have outdoor port-o-lets for customers. Sadly the day my husband and I were there they needed emptying. It doesn't make for a very pleasant experience when buying their fresh produce. Because of that, I will not return. I sent them an email telling them of this before posting this review to give them an opportunity to respond, but they ignored the email.
