christ of the ohio

The Christ On The Ohio, only takes a few minutes to take it. It's a really nice small little place. The views are spectacular.It is not located on Hwy 66. You need to take Spring St. one block north to Market, from 66. Then turn right on Market. Go up the hill, past the Village Smithy, another block or so. Turn right at the sign and park on the right.

The first time I visited the statue near the Ohio River, I was with my sister. We enjoyed looking out over the river from the little park in which the statue is located. What makes the statue extra special is the fact that an aunt and uncle actually visited the sculptor in Germany years ago before his death. I took my husband with me for a second visit, and I plan to go again with a group from my church. One can only see the statue while visiting the park or if one is boating on the Ohio River. The statue of Christ is beautiful, and the park is, too, with its rose bushes and benches for quiet meditation.

It is a nice peaceful place to sit and look out over the Ohio river. Pretty little park with a few flowers planted nothing big but peaceful.
