I hadn't been in very many years and I was pleasantly surprised by all the updates. I especially loved the butterfly exhibit.

Well laid out, something for everyone. Animals in well maintained displays and treated humanely. Staff very helpful and open to questions.Good parking, picnic area next to zoo; lot of community events.

South Bend has many unique and special things about it and the zoo is most definitely special. As a transplant to the city I had no great interest in going to a small zoo.Instead I chose to regularly walk my dog in the park beside the zoo. The day I decided to visit the animals I was pleasantly surprised. The animals looked healthy and well cared for. The staff was friendly and informed. Overall, a wonderful experience. Why hadn't I visited the zoo earlier? My mistake. The Potawatomi Zoo is now one of my favorite South Bend destinations. Go see the animals!

The zoo is always a good place to take the kids to learn and have a good time. The Potawatomi zoo is a great regional, small zoo and they have a good selection of animals and exhibits. The playground and park nearby is a great place to go after the zoo, too. It was and is a really fun time for a family.

This is a nice little zoo considering the size of South Bend. Pretty affordable, nice layout. Children will really enjoy it. I wouldn't say it's a must see when visiting the area but it's a nice way to spend an afternoon if you get the chance.

We loved the layout of this zoo and the variety of animals in their attractive and clean environments. The employees that we encountered were all very friendly. We also appreciated the signage regarding the animals on display particularly the flamingos. Plentiful parking. Our 4 year old grandson enjoyed playing on the playground equipment in the adjacent park....Wow! He didn't want to leave!!

My family really enjoyed this zoo. It is not very big but it is pretty open and not crowded. We felt like we could actually see most of the animals. We took the train ride which is pretty short but the kids enjoyed it. We also paid half price because we are members of the Ft. Wayne Zoo.

This zoo is fairly good sized with a very low price. The animals are close enough for a two year old to focus on instead of far away. There is a terrific playground with water features just outside. There is a small additional fee for the butterflies or the train ride.

This zoo is very clean, not too large, not too small. Animal areas very well maintained and colorful and attractive. Lots of info to read about animals that's interesting. Reasonable, only $8 person. Have train for $2, and butterfly walkabout for $2, which is awesome, had the largest moths I'd ever seen (like 6-8 inches!). There's plenty of different types of animals. Even tho hot the animals were interactive. Caught a snapshot of a wallaby holding piece of grass in hand, a chipmunk inside a bucket of food, a goat inside a smashed garbage can, etc. Workers very friendly. Surprising, gift shop NOT at entrance but in middle of zoo. Buildings painted nicely. Disappointed cuz collect magnets for fridge and only one they had were tiles in which animals actually put pawprints in paint on front. Would've been something to buy if it had name of zoo on front and not on back. I'd def go back. Largest alligator I've ever seen in my life, HUGE! Lots of tortoises. Children's zoo and indoor insect house.

nice day to spend time outdoors. not much to say about a zoo, just what you expect but can't beat a good summer day to spend with animals and nature

Many people complain about the fee and overgrowth well you are complaining because you are a sad person who has not ever thought about a smaller zoo than the Toledo one or something. But really this zoo is a lot of fun for a quick weekend trip. It gives alot of info on the animals and while some animals were gone it is because as we near November the zoo is doing final check ups and clean ups to get ready for the move in season. I can't wait to see the new shrew exhibit and the wolverine exhibit next year. Holding the Boa Constricter was awesome and ill be coming back. And oh man the otter exhibit is so much fun ranked 3rd in the country with 4 otters that are so active and the lion roaring was so cool! The train is kind of overpriced but the butterfly exhibit is worth the 2 dollars its so magical. This is such a nice little zoo with free parking and as I weaselled it out of the ticket worker i know that the Badger and new Lemurs will be so cool next spring. The gift shop is a bit shabby but other than that this is a fantastic little zoo

We stopped here to kill time. It was small, which is fine but for the cost of admission I expected a little more. There were several exhibits that were empty too. The prairie dogs were adorable. We collect magnets and went to the gift shop to purchase one. However, the only ones that they had were ones that the animals painted, they did not have anything with the name of the zoo on it.A bird had decided to nest along one of the walkways. The zoo did have an 8x10 sign up to not disturb, however even if you were just walking by it, the bird attacked. The pecking was not pleasant. We told an employee about it and she just laughed it off.

The zoo is pretty small and can be walked within 2 hours or less, but it's a friendly and clean place. Animals seem happy and habitats well maintained, which is more than I can say for some other zoos I've been to.
