This is an amazing center. And it is so unexpected! We really liked the nature trail and the gift shop has some very nice quality items.

good for old and young. Standard hours, tours can be arranged for the wetlands. Close to food and gas.

Staff was so helpful we were almost overwhelmed. Hours are good 9-5. You need to pick up literature for the wildlife viewing. They have a very nice gift shop and exhibits. Good restrooms also.

The Kansas Wetlands Education Center is near Great Bend and Ellinwood, Kansas.It is on the Highway going to Ellsworth, Kansas right on the Bottoms National Wetlands.The Wetlands center is a good place to visit and you need to take some time as there a lot to see and read and learn.

I have been to many nature centers snd this is a great one. Wonderful and easily covered displays. A education room filled with prairie animals. Huge windows looking on to the wetland presenting a panaramic view filled with grassland vistas. Staff were very helpful. A wonderful gift shop with great books and local gifts. Please note this was in winter, a very dry winter with few birds. But wildlife was still active and many birds of prey.
