I called to schedule/ see if they had any opennings for a particular weekend and was greeted by the most annoyed, exhausted sounding voice ever. I asked if there was any availability and she didn't even pause she went straight in to say that no there was nothing they are usually booked months in advance, she was almost rude about it. She is not doing a great job at representing the business. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

When I called for an appointment (granted it was last minute but one never knows), the receptionist on the other end paused for a few seconds, sighed and then said in a rather bored/irritated-sounding voice " we are always booked 3-4 months in advance and of course we are by appointment only". I was so shocked by the tone and rudeness. 1. I KNOW they are by appointment only. Hence, the reason why I was calling ahead rather than just showing up and 2. The polite thing would have been to say something along the lines of "Thank you so much for calling but unfortunately we have no appointments available on that day." That's all she had to say. So, in the end, I'm glad they don't have appointments available because if that receptionist represents the tone for the establishment, then it would have been an unpleasant experience indeed. So they just lost what would have been a regular customer who wouldn't have balked at dropping $300+ every weekend or two to get relaxation. Perhaps they thought I was poor-sounding on the phone? I'm not from Kansas and have experienced day spas and retreats in many places all over the country. So if you wish to go here, be prepared to possibly being treated with disdain before they ever set eyes on you. Perhaps they think far too much of themselves.

Needed a stopping point on my travels through Kansas and choose Hays based on the reviews of this spa. I was not disappointed. Don't be misled by the trip down a deserted two lane highway and then a gravel road to get to this destination. Many thanks to Lisa and Samantha for a serene and relaxing evening. I arrived at 7:15 pm; two hours later I was heading back to my hotel for a wonderful night's sleep. The $95 price is worth every penny!

the couple massages are to die for :) Will absolutely go back AGAIN as often as we can !! Have given gift certificates for Rock Haven SpaWe love it and want other people to know what a treasure this place is for couples to enjoy and relax and be treated very well.

They treat you like a Queen. Everyone is so nice. I wish I could afford to give this gift to everyone I know. They work sure magic. A hidden gem in Ellis county.

This was hands down the best birthday gift I have ever received! My husband lovingly gave me the gift of a ''spa day", but it was much more than being pampered... I have never felt so welcome! The staff amazing and the service excellent. This place is so incredibly beautiful, but also such an amazing opportunity to be pampered and feel like a Queen! Rock Haven is tucked away in the Smoky River Hill Valley, and is a true gem! Thank you ladies for making this birthday the best! I went by myself this time but will most definitely be returning in the near future with my husband,sister, mother, and friends!

I have been to many spas around the country, and I can confidently say that Rock Haven is one of the kind and so far, the best, hands down. We had a couple's message. It took us about 2 hours to complete the process including many amenities. The entire experience was very enjoyable and reasonably priced.

I enjoy going to spa's during my travels around the country. And although this one is about 2 hours from where I live, I planned a trip with a few others and we had a wonderful time. Not only did we enjoy the spa, but many of the amenities that went along with our visit made it that much more enjoyable.

I have gone to Rock Haven three different times. Once with my husband for a couple's massage, and two other times with a group of girls. Starting with the hot tub and champagne and cheese and crackers, and then to the steam room and individual massages, OH MY. A full and fun afternoon with friends!

Rock Haven Spa is located a few miles South of Hays and just a few hundered yards to the West. The spa is built into a historic old barn that has been transformed into a jewel few will ever forget. I can highly suggest a couples massage. Starting with a huge walk in steam shower, then side by side massages under heat lamps. I was happy that their therapists could easily handle deep pressure as I prefer this and was not dissappointed. The spa can put together a varity of specialized one of a kind treatments for couples, singles, or groups. We saw a private bungalow area built into the rocky hills that featured outdoor in ground spa and massage areas inside. The whole time you are there, you can watch nature all around you with peacocks, horses, dogs, cats, birds, trees, natural grasses, flowers, and more. Rock Haven Spa is a jewel built into the Kansas landscape. This is a one of a kind place to visit.

Since Rock Haven opened, I have visited several times with friends or family. Every time I go, the ladies at Rock Haven treat me like a queen for a day. From the ambience to the service, this place is top notch. I love soaking in the spa overlooking the Smoky Hill River--blue sky overhead, winding, cotton-wood lined river to the south with ancient limestone wrapping around you. The old barn turned into an art-filled spa is fabulous. From the moment you walk in, every sense is stimulated. For the price, this is an amazing spa visit. You get a spa soak with refreshments, a steam sauna with dead sea rub that makes your skin feel like baby skin, and am hour massage that includes relaxing music, trained massage therapists, and a lovely setting. The Allenbaughs have turned this place into a haven.

Wow. I felt very pampered The massage was heavenly, the steam showers felt wonderful. Will be taking my daughter on a spa day sometime.

This spa began it's life as a limestone barn many many years ago. The setting is in the Smoky Hill river valley. Beautiful surroundings and scenery. The owners purchased this property a number of years ago and put major $$$ as well as blood sweat and tears into transforming it into a premier spa location. My better half has been going there almost from the time they opened. We have also done a couples treatment numerous times. I can say I look forward to a day at Rock Haven as much as she does. Setting in the hot tub on the top of the hill sipping champagne and watching an occasional peacock stroll by. It doesn't get much better! That is, until you retire inside to the steam bath, before succumbing to a wonderful massage that puts me out every time. We are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do a fair amount of traveling. We have experienced some of the premier spas in some pretty swanky locations. Rock Haven can hold it's head high as it rivals the best we've been to! If you're ever going to be close by, it's absolutely worth the stop. One warning though, definately call ahead. We're not the only ones that know of this hidden gem. They're always busy.

This place will relax you so much that you will be spagetti legs walking out. I thoroughly enjoyed getting pampered here and will again. A little pricey but OHHHHH so worth the money

This is NOT an attraction it is a spa. They need to stick to the yellow pages.
