Our family had never heard of this place before but decided to give it try. We had a great time looking at the animals and taking a nice walk to the lake. All the kids really enjoyed it (ages 9,3, and 1yr).

I took my grandchildren to this place to do a photo shoot. We ended up going inside to look at the birds and animals. We've been back at least once a month since then. It's great place for toddlers to go.

We love exploring the park and then warming up/ cooling off in the nature center. Perfect place to go on a rainy day. Lots of animals to look at and classes to attend. They offer day camps through Lawrence parks and rec department. Everyone is very nice.

It's great whether you signed up for a ranger program or not. Lots of hands on activities for kids and adults. The parrots are fun, if a bit loud!

Constantly improving the experience. Great grounds that can be walked. Interesting exhibits. Staff are interested. Family has enjoyed every visit and ask to return. See web site for special events. Tours can be scheduled.

This is a wonderful place to take children. When they're little, they'll love seeing the animals, both taxidermied and alive, and hearing--if they're not scared--the screeching parrot. Older, they'll love the trails and going down to Mary's Lake.

Like any nature, this is split into two parts, which are as follows:Indoor - The indoor section is amazing! Competes with any blows any other nature center I've been to out of the water! Huge, which tons of displays (including live animals) explaining the biology and natural history of the area. Well done!Outdoor - There are a series of trails on the small property, that weave throughout basically all of it. Most of it is forest, with a small prairie and lake. Not really good for hikes, but maybe for small children.

This is a great place to visit and then you can head to the walking trails. The animals are very cute and surprise- it is educational for kids!

I've been taking my kids here for years and even though they are older now, they still enjoy it. The center has a good variety of animals and a walking trail.

My family came across this on the way out of Lawrence and decided to stop by for a visit. We were very impressed with the layout and animal displays present. The trail around the lake made for a great walk, there were not too many people. The nature center was very kid friendly and the trails were well-kept. All in all I would like to go back and visit again. The kids and us had a really fun time there.
