I enjoy seeing the horses all over town. Imagination was definitely in play in their creation. Definitely a must if you are visiting Lindsborg.

We were fortunate that many of the horses were brought together in one location due to downtown infrastructure work starting in January 2015.We enjoyed seeing how each individual horse was painted differently. We got a map showing the location of other horses but due to the weather, we didn't drive around to see them. But we did see 2 others that were not in this lineup as we were driving in and out of town.We loved see the Dala Horses and the heritage they represent. I even purchased a Dala Horse magnet as a souvenir before we leaving!

While enjoying shopping and touring in Lindsborg, the Dala horses create an added interest to the town. Each Dala is painted to match the theme of a business, church, or activity. All the children in our group enjoyed spotting the next horse down the street and running to see it. Great photo ops abound!

Wouldn't drive to Lindsborg to see but when in town they are fun to pay attention to while walking around...don't miss them!

These are stylized Swedish horses at several locations around town that have designes psinted on them. Since they are known as 'Dala', several have designs that take off on a play of words, such as the 'Salvador Dala' which has Salvador Dali inspired designs on it. Lots of fun and a variation of objects Imhave seen elsewhere, such as boots, sheep, bears, cows. There is a shop in town that makes the large Dala and sells various sizes of then to tourists.

These are painted horse statutes that have been placed at various locations throughout Lindsborg. During our day trip to town, it gave our daughter the opportunity to do her own activity and "search" for the horses (each one is different) while my wife and I looked through town, instead of being bored and just along for the ride. They are unique to Lindsborg and it a great idea.

What a delightful touch to this enchanting town.Fancifully painted interpretations of the original Dalarna horse dot the streets. Grab a “Search for the Wild Dala” pamphlet from the centrally located tourist information kiosk in the middle of Main Street and start your round up. Each is enchanting in its own right.Get out your lasso! Have some fun.Date of Visit: 2Aug2014

We were on a random road trip to nowhere and saw a sign that said :come see our heard of wild horses". A little misleading and the horse statues were not at all what we expected. We had fun and made the best of it, it was a cute little town, but we were disappointed that it turned out to be miniature statues painted up. The advertisements are a little misleading.

We honestly were a little bored. The horses were painted in a variety of schemes, but having seen buffalo & cattle done this way before, I wasn't that impressed. Maybe if this was my heritage it would have been more interesting?

It was fun to walk around the town's main street and see all the different painted horses.Decorated by local artists.

So, this was the first stop on our week long vacation through the Great Plains. It was awesome! An eclectic mix of farmers and hippies, the Dala herd was great fun to see, as they are spread through all parts of the town near neat attractions. Shop owners love visitors and will take the time to visit.

Toronto had it's moose that lost their horns, other cities cows and horses. Dala Horses are uniquely Swedish in a the Little Sweden of the prairies. It would be fun to be around when the herd gathers to welcome a newcomer. The one outside Bethany Church is one such recent newcomer. Each is uniquely and artistically painted in a style appropriate to their owner's occupation or business. A guide helps make it fun for the kids to find them all.

These little horses are spread throughout town in a variety of motifs. There are a lot of neat shops and a great Swedish restaurant to visit if you make it to Lindsborg (little Sweden).

The Dala horses were ok, from mild to wild. My wife thought the one painted as a skeleton was somewhat macabe. Visit the Wild Dala Winery!

I used to go to this place at least once a year but in recent years the community has let many places die out. The traditional scandanavian culture can still be seen and the dala hourses are great. some of the shops carry unique items but it is sad that the once amazing has gone away---if you go try to catch the mid summer or winter, santa lucia festivals.
