I enjoy finding different wineries and this one did not disappoint. They have a very nice selection and for $6, you can have a tasting (and you get to keep the wine glass!) The young lady who conducted our tasting was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable on the subject of wine. The surroundings are beautiful with plenty of seating. We will definitely be back!
A large selection of quality wines, they are heads above most of the midwestern vineyards. Their experience and knowledge seperates them from many other KS/MO wine experiences. Start here for good product and a very personal wine tasting experience.
We enjoyed the amazing band and lively atmosphere. our favorite wine was the Ruby Red. had so much character!
This is a true local winery. They have some of the best local wines you will find in the Missouri and Kansas area. Wonderful red's. On weekend they have live music and food trucks for eating. The owners are very hands on and great people. Great place to spend a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for tasting etc.
Loved attending "Art in the Vines" over Memorial Day weekend 2014. The artwork is placed LITERALLY among the grapevines, so the ambiance couldn't be any better. The Somerset Ridge wines are delicious -- my favorites are Citron and Buffalo Red! The tasting room is quaint yet roomy, and the staff is very knowledgeable. Plenty of outdoor seating. The only thing that kept me from giving Somerset Ridge a 5-star rating is the fact that the location is not an easy-find. It definitely is a "destination" winery -- but well worth the search!
My family visited this winery for Father's day last Sunday, and the winery had several events going on. There was a man rolling fresh cigars and a one-man band playing live music outside. The outdoor seating was ample, and there were many families relaxing outdoors and enjoying the day. We were given free wine tastings, and we purchased a couple of bottles of wine to enjoy outside. The staff was very gracious, bringing us water to keep us cool and making sure we were comfortable, but not being pushy. The wine itself is pretty good, and the overall experience was excellent.
I have visited several local wineries and keep coming back to Somerset. Over the last six or seven years the wines have improved dramatically and the selection of wines is always expanding. They have something for everyone from sweet whites to dark reds and even a couple of port wines. You have to drive a mile or so on gravel road but the drive south from Kansas City is well worth the time. Their wines are also available in local stores and restaurants, but a trip to the winery is lots of fun. Check out their website for events, always fun. Live music on the patio, cigar rolling, picking grapes in the fall....it's a great place to relax and enjoy.
I liked the white wines that they offer. They also have a lemon wine that is different. I also bought some geat wine pourers that allow you to keep a bottle of wine fresh.
