The best part of Kapiolani park to me was the Banyan Trees that remind me a bit of the evil ship captain in Pirates of the Caribbean. The park is not huge but is some nice green space just south of Waikiki and worth the walk if you are tired of shopping.

This is a great park right in the Waikiki area. Kapiolani park sits at the end of Kakakaua Ave right at the foot of Diamond Head Crater. We were here for the weekend art fair where local artists sell their craft. Several food booths were there. One had Hawaiian pineapple sausage on a bun which was unique and very tasty. It has plenty of parking, beach access, band stage, bathrooms a zoo, natatorium, aquarium, & The Waikiki Shell amphitheater. On the weekend you see many picnickers. We stopped in the park on our return walk from the light house which is also a scenic walk along theside of the volcano above the ocean beach. You pass by the Light House. Highly recommend Visiting Kapiolani Park on the weekend when visiting Waikiki.

This park is at the edge of Waikiki beach. Beautiful scenery and is bordered by beautiful trees. Great view of the exterior of Diamond Head. Calm and serene with locals playing and lots of wide open space.

I stayed near here and it seems like there is always something going on. I went to an art show one day and another little park jam another day. Plus there is equipment here for people to work out on which is nice.

My husband and I came across this park as we were walking back from Diamond Head. Were trying to catch a trolley back to our hotel the Hilton Hawaiian Village ( never got one and walked the entire way back to hotel). Anyways, we walked around the park and took some pictures of some beautiful trees. Didn't really spend a lot of time here but like I said walked around it and it was so peaceful. A very pretty park. If you are in the area it would be a nice place to sit and have a picnic!

This is a great place to have a family picnic. It is huge and sits right below Diamond Head. It is also a great place to exercise, whether it be walking, jogging, playing tennis, etc.

When I came upon this park, I was happy to see it because it marked the end of the Honolulu Marathon! The park was a wonderful place to rest, refuel and relax after the rainy race. I loved the views of the ocean and the trees. While thousands of people had converged on this spot, there was ample elbow room to walk around and regroup. It also is close to the Honolulu Zoo, so these sights can be grouped together if you're planning a trip.

Great park within walking distance of Waikiki. Spent some quiet time walking around and people watching here one afternoon. It's nice and peaceful, the locals are friendly, struck up a conversation with one such local and got some great tips on other areas to visit while on Oahu, beautiful banyan trees and a pond also, it's close to the Zoo as well. A nice place to get away from the touristy areas for a while and reflect on the beauty that is Hawaii.

Kapi'olani Park is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. If you can stake out some space under a tree, it's a beautiful place to spend a relaxing morning or afternoon. There are also tons of festivals, craft fairs, and special events happening here all year round. The Waikiki Shell amphitheater is here and a stage where there are often hula performances on the weekends. It can often be a problem finding a parking space on weekends. For the large amounts of people who use this park, it's always pretty clean. Easy walk to the beach. In fact, you can walk for a swim and come to the park and relax. If you come during weekdays, you pretty much have the park to yourself until kids' sports teams come out in the afternoon.

If you're staying in Waikiki, this park has a much nicer beach than those in the hotel zone. It also has changing rooms and showers, great for maximizing beach time on your last day.

We walked right down the beach from central Waikiki and were glad of the restful shaded area in which to have our picnic lunch. This is a really nice park with plenty to do, or just do nothing. Well worth a trip out.

This is a great park right in the Waikiki area. Kapiolani park sits at the end of Kakakaua Ave right at the foot of Diamond Head Crater. Wonderful view. It has plenty of parking, beach access, band stage, bathrooms a zoo, natatorium, aquarium, & The Waikiki Shell amphitheater. Huge park has plenty of room for picnickers. We were there on May 1st (May Day), which in Hawaii is also called Lei Day. They have a huge festival in the park with many vendor tents, selling everything from Hawaiian jewelry to Leis, to great Hawaiian foods. Many different Hawaiian musicians performed wit Hula dancers performing while they sang. Loved the feeling of being right there among all of the Hawaiian culture & tradition. Highly recommend Visiting Kapiolani Park when visiting Waikiki.

Great park if you can get parking. Come early. Great to have a big family get together, or just run it out to Diamondhead and back. Small exercise stations, and bathrooms.

Here is a sooooo nice place to go for just taking a walk, being relaxed lying down on the grass, jogging or cycling! ;)You can enjoy huge trees' energy and so great sun shine every day!On Independence Day this year, I bought 2 bicycles one for myself and one for my Hawaiian fiance. And we started cycling to the park every morning before sunrise or evening after sunset for exercises up to my fiance's shift for working place. My fiance is doing 80 times push ups every morning even though I just keep watching and doing my squat x 20 to 30... lol!Sometimes we go cycling close to Aquarium and enjoy bathing as there is no one around there!Enjoy your visit to Kapiolani Park ;)!
