This is a very unique retailer of unusual, beautiful and practical accessories for your home and garden. The grounds are very pleasant to just walk around and take in the beauties of nature. We live nearby and find it hard to go by, even though we've been there many times. On a scale of 1 to 10, we give it a 15. Don't miss it if you're near Algoma.
If you're going to or through Algoma, you MUST stop at the Flying Pig. If you're not going through Algoma, consider re-routing. I've been there dozens of times so there's really no reason to stop again, but I do -- every time. There's nothing I need to buy, but I always leave with another sack of their can't-find-anywhere-else greeting cards, then giggle for months as I wait for friends' birthdays and anniversaries (I shouldn't enjoy friends getting sick, but the Pig has some irreverent get-well cards too,) The lady who owns this place must have so much fun finding the funky stuff for us and dreaming up creative ways to show it off. I'd like her to know that I'm really disappointed about her painting over the aphorisms in the bathrooms! ("People were spending too much time in there" = lame excuse!)
Lots to look at, lots to buy! A really nice selection of items. Just a fun little place to stop and browse and buy!
We made a spontaneous stop because of the name and garden art we could see as we drove past. What a good stop! The grounds and gardens are beautiful still in October and the garden art was the best display I have seen anywhere. It was my birthday so hubby got me one of the best gifts ever there. Great place.
I stop here every time I come through this area. If you haven't checked it out, it's worth taking a look. The grounds are beautiful and it is a neat place to walk outside while you are shopping (window shopping or otherwise). It's is pretty much a great big garden with outdoor decor displayed. There is a large pond, and a little sandy area for the kids along with a great big tub of bubbles and bubble wands. (Yes my husband and I played with them too!). The outdoor yard art creations as well as plants are for sale. Indoors you will find more interesting art and gifts, a coffee shop and an upstairs art gallery. Love this place!
Very unique place with lots of plants and items for your garden. Bought a very cool clock made of of a 45 record, in the shape of a moose. Loved this place!!
I tell you we are not "shoppers" but this is a must stop if you are on Hwy 42 passing through Algoma. The art but both the owner and local artists are something to see. Would have liked to bring home one of their cool lawn ornaments but knew they would not last long in my Chicago yard!
Located a couple miles south of Algoma along Wisconsin 42. This is a great garden and art center to, at a minimum, just walk through. Unique plants for sale and on display in the garden and art laced trails. Prices a little higher than some big box nurseries, but have found several plants that I could not find elsewhere. Lots of garden art in the form of pottery and welded items, again not cheap, but unique finds from mostly Wisconsin artist. Coffee shop, artisan cards and jewelry.
Love visiting the Flying Pig. They have a great variety of art and gifts and the staff is always great to visit with!
This is an absolutely delightful place to stop and shop. There is an amazing variety of original art. The gardens and water features are truly cool. When in the Algoma area, but sure to visit.
Art gallery; greenspace; small cafe. All just south of Algoma on Highway 42. Loose yourself in the inside gallery or outside in the spacious grounds. If you are coming or going from Algoma, don't miss this!
The Flying Pig is a wonderful mixture of art and crafts by talented Wisconsin artists and craftsmen, beautiful gardens, plants and a coffee shop. I even made a special trip back to Algoma just to go back to the Flying Pig. A must see in you're anywhere near Algoma.
There is so much to see here and always someplace to just relax and take in the fabulous artwork! Found so much i wanted to take home with me, but due to limited space I couldn't find room in the car for anything. Will be going back again!
I usually find something here that I haven't seen everywhere else. There are many hand-made items, in fibers, ceramics, paper, and jewelry. There is a small but good selection of greeting cards, and a wonderful selection of mismatched socks from SolMate. There is also a little coffee bar if you need to have someone wait while you shop.
Lots of great artworks and hearty plants, but bring your wallet.i always find something to buy, after I gulp at the price.worth it though !
