We spent our anniversary in Chippewa Falls! Visited 3 wineries including this one. Beautiful setting. Tasted their wines, bought a few bottles, then we bought two glasses and relaxed on the patio for a while. Absolutely wonderful! We will return.
This place has such a beautiful setting in the summer. The outside patio is so welcoming, especially when they have live music out there! Just beware, if you are like me and prefer a dry, hearty red wine you will not find it here. Their driest red is still somewhat sweet, but with that being said you will still find a good variety of wines to sample!
I went last week for a 4 day Wisconsin winery tour and this was one of the wineries of the first day...I am actually going back this coming weekend from Mpls because I didn't get enough of their Marquette, which was one of the best I ever had, and I'm not even a big Marquette wine lover...it was that good.
River Bend Winery is a hidden gem in Chippewa Falls. My fiancée and I stumbled upon this winery a few years ago and have been enjoying their wines ever since. It is one of the places we make sure to take friends and family to when they visit.
Great experience. To get to the winery you drive through the vineyard, really neat. The winery is fairly new and everything is spotless. The staff is great as is the wine. Prices are very reasonable. Don't miss this experience when you are in the area
Amazing winery in an adorable setting. Great tasting wines with an attentive and knowledgeable staff.
This place is very pretty, and I was impressed with their sparkling wine made from estate grown WI grapes (Frontenac Gris). I think it's the only winery making sparkling in the state. Mind you, it's not CA quality by any stretch but definitely interesting and worth a try. Their estate reds are good as well, assuming you like Midwest hybrid grapes.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed a great selection of wines. The building is surrounded by the vineyard, and there is a nice area to sit outside and enjoy a nice glass/bottle with a beautiful view!
I enjoy family wineries and this winery was no exception. Nice modern tasting room that appeared to be popular with the local young wine diva ladies. Good clean wines and attentive staff. Yeah, it ain't Napa. But it's nice.
Stopped here on my way from Minneapolis to Green Bay. What a wonderful place and not far off the interstate. The staff here was very friendly. Even let me photograph out in the vineyard. The wines were exceptional and they offer a very unique tasting opportunity. They call it "flights". You can taste 4 wines in your flight for free and the wines are grouped by taste. Let's just say it was a very difficult decision. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely return.
The wines here are very good. They offer 4 different "flights" for tasting. 2 dryer and 2 sweeter. All of the wines we tried were excellent ! Make it a point if in the area to make River Bend Vineyard and Winery a stop! You will not be disappointed.
We come here several times a year to enjoy old favorites and find new ones. The staff is knowledgable and friendly. Some weekends they have wood fire pizzas and music. Well done winery.
River Bend has concerts during the summer about once per month. They make a great wine and you can purchase it at the concert and they will give you a chilled bottle and a glass. It is something we look forward to doing a few times in the summer, if time permits.
We visited River Bend around 5pm on a Saturday in late November. The free tasting included 5 wines, then we enjoyed a glass ($5 each) of wine while checking out the shop. The store was decorated for Christmas and felt clean and cozy. The staff was very friendly. The best time to come is probably in the summer time because of the great patio outback, but this was a fun thing to do on a cold Saturday and get in the holiday spirit. Just a short drive from Eau Claire.
I stopped there 3 years ago as I live close and sampled some wines which from my experience as an argentine are far from reaching the standard of wines I am used to but for those who have not been exposed to good quality wines it could be worth visiting . And the prices are awfully high.
