First time visiting. So impressed. It holds it own with other high end spas in Wisconsin and elsewhere. We will definitely return
As a group of five, we had made reservations for massages a few months in advance. Some of us added to our massage with other services. However, when we arrived one of my friends thought her facial was supposed to be earlier and I was supposed to have a facial which they originally couldn't find my confirmation. After some frustration on timing and "finding my reservation" on their books, we were soon relaxing and enjoying the facilities. I've had massages before, but Jen was a perfect fit for me due to her spirituality. God brings good people into your life for a reason. My facial was done by Chris who was extremely professional and did a fantastic job. Lastly, Rebecca in the salon also gets two thumbs up for her services. At the end of the day I was pleasantly satisfied with my services, regardless of the cost.
For a birthday surprise my husband booked a two bedroom suite, invited our daughter and booked a mother/daughter massage and facials. Earlier in the day we stopped at the front desk so I could ask some questions about attire, lockers, etc. The two gals couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. When we got there for our services we were taken around for a little mini tour and everything was explained in detail. We were shown the locker/changing areas, the robes and slippers, the waiting room and the whirlpool areas. While the changing areas weren't huge it posed no problem for us to change into the very plush robes and spa slippers. We went to the waiting lounge and another very helpful gal explained how we could order from the cafe and have our food ready when and where we wanted. We also chatted with some friendly women who were waiting for their services. The massage was heavenly. I've had many massages at different places and this, by far, was the absolute best. We asked if they could combine their firmer pressure with a faster pace. There was no problem. Then we went to the cafe and had an absolutely beautiful and tasty lunch. I had the butternut squash soup and the caramelized sea scallops. Both were done perfectly and seasoned well. The presentation was picture perfect. Then we went back to the lounge to wait for our facials. While it was a little noisy from a group of gals that were sitting/talking in the whirlpool area it wasn't horrible. The facial was also incredible. Not only did they do an amazing facial they also did our hands and feet. We felt like we were in heaven and very pampered. The customer service is top notch; there were plenty of people walking around to answer any questions. We loved every minute of our services and the chance to spend a little quality mother/daughter time together. We both felt that we would certainly go back again. My husband made all the reservations online and we just added our services to our room bill. There was no problem with our reservations being lost nor was there a problem when we checked out of the resort.
I booked an appointment online 4 days in advance, including providing my credit card information to secure the reservation. I arrived 15 minutes before my 9 a.m. massage and was told there was no record of my reservation, the earliest they could do it would be 10 a.m., which was not possible. The girl behind the desk simply said “I’m sorry, I don’t know what to tell you.”If Aspira is going to brag about its standing as one of the country’s premier spas, management should ensure that their online reservation system works. This is hardly what I would call “first class” service.
So when you have a treatment at a hotel you assume it's going to be more expensive than what you have at home. Sometimes I think to myself - boy I hope this is worth it. Well, well well I was amazed at the great spa and how wonderful the entire experience was. I've been to nice spas before but this place was amazing. Great plush robes and slippers. As they walk you down the hallway to your treatment you are amazed at every room and how gorgeously appointed they are. The rooms are nicely sized and the music relaxing. I had the bio-dynamic facial and every single aspect was not only relaxing but luxurious. I felt fabulous when I left. Make sure to take a dip in the co-ed hot tub with fireplace when you are done. Wonderful selection of teas and small snacks in the ladies lounge area. I showered before I left and wanted to immediately go home and redo my bathroom with the shower heads they have. Amazing and would recommend you go. Actually - I insist :)
The Aspira Spa at the Osthoff is peaceful. The service rooms are up to date and beautifully decorated. The meditation room is very relaxing and enjoyable.
Having been to Kohler before and wanting to try something different...I thought with all awards they list this would have been just as pleasant.Check In: Average. I was just given my room key and spa envelope which was missing the 2nd guest spa confirmation. Given the size of the resort and the package booked I would think there could have been more time spent introducing us to the resort explaining the amenities, options, hours of spa, hotel pool/hot tub, etc. There were 2 front desk clerks and no one else waiting so there was plenty of time to impress arriving guests. Room: above average. Very nice, spacious, comfortable beds and pillows, bathroom was very nice with a great tub. TV, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, sink, etc. Restaurants: very good. Nice ambiance. Although I notice that when the bartender was squeezing limes into glass to make mojito the juice ran down his fingers, to his hand and down to wrist and then into the glass, which I feel should not happen in a highly ranked resort. Spa: locker rooms were nice and provided appropriate amenities. Changing area where lockers were are small. You couldn't have more than 2 people in a section (2 sections) at a time. Twice I had to wait aside until another person finished changing. On 2 occasions I had others ask how to lock the lockers as they were not locking/working properly. Showers were great with 6 spraying spouts. They were very large...almost too large/wasted space. I would have preferred more room in the changing area. Robes were acceptable. Slippers were not in the best shape and are in need of being replaced. Spa check out was not sure how to make sure my package credit was applied. (I noticed this same complaint on another post). Facial products in boutique were $50-$60 per item that was used for my facial.Check out: when checking out after our treatments I stopped at front desk to make sure our credits were applied. When showing our receipt from spa I asked if I could get clarification. I was told that the spa was separate and I would have to go back down to the spa (which I wasn't about to do). I left somewhat disgusted saying I was not going to do that. Shortly after I left I received a call from front desk letting me know that they called spa to get clarification and the spa did not properly apply my credit and she had to correct it. I felt that this should have been done in the first place and not after it was noticed that I was not happy with the first response from them.Getting away with my mother made the trip wonderful and worth Every bit. Unfortunately I can not say I was overly impressed with the resort itself to return.
We actually came here by accident. We knew there was a nice spa in the area so we booked into the Aspira only to realize we meant to book into Kohler. That said, it's cheaper! The communal spa areas are small but pleasant.
My husband and I came to the spa for an anniversary gift and very happy that we did. This was by far one of the best massages that we both have ever had!! We booked the 80 minute couples massage with the additional time and whirlpool. The massage room was so comfortable. It included a private bathroom, shower, whirlpool tub, fireplace and two massage tables. They even included a bottle of champagne to toast to our 3 years anniversary. We could have ordered additional snacks or drinks. When our massage was done we both said that it was the best ever! We can’t wait to go back again.
The Aspira Spa is always clean, quiet, relaxing, has a wonderful scent, very soothing music, and highly trained therapists. I have been visiting for years and have never had a bad experience. The staff is friendly and efficient, the facilities clean, well stocked with anything you could think of to need after a class or service (mouthwash, toothbrush with paste, hair styling gels, shampoo, body wash, etc.) They are never pretentious here. The whirlpools room is comfortable and the whirlpool huge. There is a meditation room, a café, a lounge with snacks, water, and tea, and a gift shop. We love it here. My favorite therapist is Serena. She is highly trained, friendly, and able to work around or with all my health issues.
I entered the Aspira having never been to a spa before, so I was a little apprehensive about what to expect. There are a lot of sevices that are offered, so it makes it really hard to choose what you might like. In the end, I just picked something and added a facial. They give little direction as to what to wear or where to go or what you can use. I was taken into a very nice, yet open women's changing room. There were moments of anxiety as I didn't know what to wear under my robe. My confusion continued when I went into the womens lounge but saw that there was a co-ed whirlpool and sauna that I couldn't use because they are obviously bathing suit areas.Samantha was the girl who gave me my massage and she was amazing, funny, and eased my stress by explaining everything the front desk didn't. The woman who gave me my facial was great too.The services weren't cheap and neither were the products they used, which I guess is expected. An 18% gratuity is automatically added. On a last note, when I asked the front desk to write down the products recommended, I was shocked that they used a piece of scrap paper with someones personal information, including credit card number, on it. When I brought it to their attention, I was told that "all information is blacked out and for office use only" - yes, it made no sense! Nice to know I am not a criminal.I will come again next year but bring my two-piece and cash.
I could have stood in the shower for a whole day. 6 Kohler spouts melting away all my stress. My wife and I loved our full body couples massage. Professional, comfortable, and skilled. The locker room had it all including all miscellaneous items you can fathom. The only down sides were the robe and slippers, they could use an update.
My husband and I visited for couples massage as part of a "couples getaway" package offered on their website (about $585 for a night at the Osthoff resort, couples massage, and $125 dining credit). The spa itself is large and beautiful with friendly staff. However one of the things I noticed was that the cushions in the co-ed relaxation/hot tub room were old and stained. There was definitely some opportunity for updating throughout the spa.Our massage therapists asked prior to the massage if we had any "areas to avoid" in terms of the massage and the only thing I mentioned was that I prefer not to have my face massaged. They said okay and we began our service. My therapist seemed to use hurried sloppy strokes instead of a slow relaxing technique. Also sure enough, she began massaging my face during the service. I could have spoken up but it happened so fast that my face was already covered in massage oil. Not a huge deal but a little irritating. My husband said his technician did not seem hurried and he enjoyed his massage. Granted I have had many more professional massages than he so I might be a little more picky. The worst part of the experience was that when we went to the receptionist to "check out" of the spa they had no idea that our massages were paid for as part of a couples package (seems like the resort could make note of this since I told them when I made the spa appointment). We spent a good 20 minutes at the reception area hashing out the details of the charges since they had no clue about the getaway package. That's pretty annoying after a relaxing massage. I would not return because I've had much better experiences for the same amount of money at other resorts.
I had been at the Aspira spa 7 years ago and LOVED it. It is a beautiful facility with a lovely whirlpool lounge to relax in before or after treatments. This year I went again with a group of family members. It is still very much a beautiful spa, but I had a disappointing experience with my pedicure. It was, I may add, the most expensive pedicure I have ever gotten. The woman treating me was not very friendly - I tried to spark up conversation and only got one word answers. The massage chair was broken. The most disappointing part was the quality of the polish on my nails. It honestly looked terrible - my two year old could have done a better job. Two of the other women I was with also did not like the finished polish on their pedis or manis. It was pretty disappointing, and then I was told at check out that an 18% gratuity was automatically added on to my charge, which I don't think was deserved. That aside, I also had an aromatic massage, which was phenomenal. The room was beautiful and warm. The chair adjusted mechanically which I have never seen before on a massage table. The technique and professionalism of my massage therapist, Jessica, was fantastic. At the beginning you also get to choose from 7 different aromas for the oil used. It was a great time of relaxation. So in summary, this is a very nice spa, but I personally will skip nails next time.
Fantastic spa with great massage services! A great place to remove the stress of daily life and walk away feeling rejuvinated!! I had a shoulder problem when I arrived, gone when I left!!
