MsBobbie, thank you for the wonderful review! We're so glad you enjoyed the shows and had such a pleasant Northwoods experience.
We're glad you liked our community show HMS Pinafore. We sure had fun doing it! It is quite a daunting task to pull 20 or so folks from the community together in just a few weeks to perform the challenging lyrics and music of the great Gilbert & Sullivan. It's all in the name of entertainment for the folks visiting us, living here, and thinking about maybe someday living here. We hope our endeavors keep theater alive in the Northwoods for many years to come! (By the way, for 30 years previous, it was called Northern Lights Playhouse.)
Ron, we are so glad that you and your wife had a great time at the Playhouse! HMS Pinafore was such a fun show to do! Hope we see you again soon.
Thanks for the wonderful review - glad to hear that you had such a nice experience. Come again!
We're very glad you and your friends had such a pleasant experience at Tommy O's Playhouse! Thanks for writing such a nice review! Feel free to review any other shows you attend!! :)
We are sorry you didn't enjoy this production. It has been generally well received by audiences. This play was written by a New Zealander and some people don't appreciate the humor. If you had stayed for the full production, you would have seen a turn in the story and an interesting lesson. We hope you'll give our theater another try someday.
Thanks, Sally, We are so glad that you enjoyed the show. Tom loves to do things to honor the troops... in fact, he closes every single Tommy O Show with God Bless America, too!.We are so used to his um's and ah's... it's just part of his endearing personality! But we'll make sure he sees your comment.
We took our three children (ages 19, 16 & 13) to see ''Leaving Iowa'' and we all LOVED it. It is very difficult to please everyone in the family, especially kids, but this group of outstanding actors had no problems capturing and holding the attention of all five of us. The acting was superb, the sound effects were excellent, the setting was beautiful and the concession stand people were friendly. We will be back. The cast also came out at the end to shake hands with the audience and thanked us for coming. THANK YOU all for sharing your talents with us.
We have seen 2 shows this summer so far: Tommy O's 70's Musical Fondue on Friday and PS I Love You, a USO Revue. Both were very enjoyable with several audience sing alongs included. It is a community theater, with lots of local participation, both as performers and behind the scenes. We have been going to this theater for about 30 years & get season tickets every year. Practically every time we have been very impressed with the performances. Beats watching TV all to pieces. If you like live theater at all, go to a show here. They also have a children's show every Wednesday at 11 am, as well as a theater camp and an autism theater workshop.
Barb, thank you for your review. We are sorry that you were disappointed in the script for "How to Train your Husband", as audiences are finding it very entertaining. This season we are trying to bring some lesser known playwrights to the area. This particular show is from New Zealand. We hope you will come again! Try HMS Pinafore at the end of July if you would like to see a more familiar show.
Thanks, Kathy. We are happy to be able to keep the Playhouse going and bring professional theater to the Northwoods! Glad you like the popcorn, too!
