blackhawk lake recreation area

This place is amazing! Beautiful property, Beautiful scenery, and amazing staff! I hosted a media event in the cabins at Blackhawk lake and invited some of the best in the outdoor industry! There were prostaff members from Plano/Frabill, Tenzing outdoors, Tinks products, Bear bows, Barnett crossbows, you name it, they were there! The names of the pros who came to enjoy the week were Pat Kalmerton, Brian(BRO) Brohsdahl, Marianne Huskey, Miss Huntress USA 2011 KaCey Dixon, and many other top names within the industryas well as represenitives from Plano, Whitetails Unlimited, Ultimate Outdoor Radio, Outdoor Junkies television and many other publications.The cabins were cozy and warm with a beautiful view of the lake. The fishing was GREAT! We caught bass up to 6lb, caught 20 inch Walleye, enough Bluegill to keep for a good dinner for everyone but could have kept all we needed and some, Crappies...the list never ends! Now the hunting is another story all on its own. I have walked this public land for 8 hours a day for a week straight and have not scratched the surface! There are beautiful trails for walking trails that are maintained and beautiful scenery throughout. it also offers great hunting. seen deer, turkey, squirrels, pheasants, woodcock and more. The staff here went up and beyond to accommodate every request we had by delivering firewood for our evening fires to opening up the nature center for us to have meetings and gatherings in...it was a very pleasant trip and we will be back!!THANK YOU BLACKHAWK RECREATION AREA FOR A GREAT TIME and I will personally recommend you to anyone who is looking for a great family vacation or a company get togetherCaptain Patrick J. Great park! We visited from 9/18 through 9/22. We traveled in a Class A RV. We were able to pick our location as the park was fairly vacant. The gentlemen at the office drove us through the park to show us our options.We picked a great location, very secluded and private. We rented a pontoon for several days. It had seen better days but served the purpose. We did not tow a car so he made sure to come by each day to see if we need ice or firewood which we did. He came right back with whatever we needed.The park is very clean and scenic. The leaves were beginning to change which were beautiful. Fishing was poor but could be the time of the year. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing and enjoying the scenery. The one huge negative which is not any fault of the park or grounds, were the black fly's. The fly's were relentless. We could not enter our Motorhome without 45-50 fly's following. There were swarms during certain times of the day so we got smart and went on the pontoon. I believe it could be the time of year. I have never seen anything like it. If not for the fly's, the trip would have been perfect!I would highly recommend this park to anyone! Very nice staff and beautiful surroundings!

Lovely, easy to get to. The park is clean. We enjoyed renting a paddle boat. Fishing is good, safe for the kids. Helpful staff.

This is a great county park in Southwest Wisconsin (The Uplands) to visit and camp at. Campsites were spacious and the playgrounds for kids were great. Shower/bathroom facilities were nice, however were dirty due to to campers being disgusting but staff kept up as much as possible. Beach was nice but it's a steep walk (or ride) down to it. Staff were very helpful, wood and other items were very reasonably priced. They have boat, kayak, etc. rentals and a fishing pier as well. This is a great place to take the family! Beautiful, quiet location with fantastic star viewing!

Especially pretty in the fall. Clean air, well kept, lots of water. Nice kid parks. Nice place to stop and take in the great outdoors.
