Northwoods Wildlife Center does so much for the local wildlife in saving lives and educating visitors it really worth stopping by. It is full of surprises you never know what animal is going to be there, being rehabilitated. NWC is truly a gift to the community!

The Northwoods Wildlife Center is a perfect quick stop if you are heading through or staying in Minocqua. They have a fun and educational exhibit with some cool, (mostly) local creatures where they will give you quick tours to see the birds in the sanctuary. The birds are beautiful and our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. It's attached to a pet hospital and all of the work they to to rehabilitate wild animals is really awesome. Make sure to ask about Woody the turtle. He's adorable.

Very small facility. We took the tour which lasted just under 25 minutes. Very average. There is simply not that much to do. Everyone was very friendly. Note that google maps might bring you to the other side of the street, between Trigs and Walmart. Just turn around and you will see the facility on the other side of the street.

My kids loved seeing Wisconsin wildlife that had been rescued from injury. Seeing the replica of an eagle's nest really wowed them, impressed at the size of it. They even have a little coloring area with coloring sheets!

Very informative and great to see animals from the area. Sad to know that many will be hunted after being set free due to Wisconsin lack of conservation. Only animals under federal protection will have a chance. They do not help predators like coyote, wolf or bear.

This is a really wonderful organization. They save wild animals like, eagles, owls, birds, bears, etc that have been hurt by either humans or in the wild. They present educational information to groups in their building or go to organizations and schools to teach about the animals in the outdoors. This organization is essential to our area. Donations to them helps preserve the way of life of endangered wildlife.

This facility is a rehabilitation hospital and educational center. Animals that can be reintroduced to the wild are, and those with issues that would make it unsafe to do so are well cared for. Guided tours with a small voluntary donation are provided. There is a small gift shop as well.

We brought my grand daughter here last month; very informative tour given by an intern. I had been here before, but did not realize how many (mainly) raptors/owls are housed on the grounds. The indoor displays are good as well. They do good work; please support this facility!

Set in a relaxing, park-like setting, this is far more than a simple petting zoo for kids though there is that too. We were pleasantly surprised at the number of animals here. We particularly liked their collection of exotic peacocks from all over the world. There were stunningly beautiful species that I have never seen even in big city zoos. The most fun though was walking around in their giant birdcage with hundreds of friendly parakeets. Make sure you get one of the sticks with food on them and be prepared to have these little guys land on your fingers, shoulders and even head.

This center does a great thing in caring for animals and educating public. Nice little center to explore before tour. Tours are every 1/2 hr and are actually outside behind center on a pebbled path that goes between buildings that house all kinds of birds that have been injured and can't be released back to wild. Guide was very informative about all the birds and really knew her stuff. Really liked it and it's free but you'll want to donate. Were some things different than expected. First of all GPS takes wrong direction. Thought tour would be inside but was outside. Didn't realize tour was only birds. Overall really good but not what expected.

We loved this place!! It was a perfect little zoo to walk through for an afternoon. Lots of neat animals to see. You will get a chance to pet some cute little baby animals the handlers hold. Lots of animals to feed as they walk around you, cage-free

A staff member provided a personal tour of the facility and provided information about the birds in residence.
