We spent amazing time here on the way to Door Coumty for a long weekend. This is unbelievable that this is the only place in the United States where the Blessed Mother, Mary appeared. The Pope and Bishops approved the authenticity in 2011. There is a lovely chapel shrine, a church, and even a place to get religious items on site. This shrine is in the middle of farmland. We were fortunate to have the priest there talk with some of us and he blessed the items we purchased for our family. There are crutches left by people who had been cured while in deep prayer there. Your heart just becomes calm and if you listen...Mother Mary may be speaking to your heart.
The shrine is the only Marian Apparition Shrine in the USA. When I visited there I felt a sense of peace and calm. It is a beautiful place out in the country and not far from Green Bay. I would recommend a visit there.
Located about 30 minutes outside Green Bay.If Catholic - a must see. The Shrine is the only approved apparation of the Blessed Mother in the United States.Shrine grounds are set in the country with areas to walk and enjoy the quiet. The Church and Shrine provides time for prayer and meditation. There is a nice gift shop and cafe on the grounds.Highly Recommend.
while visiting this beautiful Shrine of Our Lady of Good Help. That peaceful calm will remain even after leaving. While inside crypt ones mind is silenced for the aura is captivated by the eyes of the statue of our Blessed Mother. Loaded with request of please heal my friends and family who suffer with earthly diseases and pain. Remembering to be thankful for her appearance to Adele Brise. Her concerns in 1859 were for our faith in her Son Jesus and to teach our children. Take time to walk the grounds, pray and enjoy the Calm. You can pray anywhere but why pass up a heaven sent apparition site. Stay for Holy Mass and acknowledge the reverence of Eucharist!
This is the peaceful spot on 6 acres of farmland in northeastern Wisconsin just a short ride from Green Bay in New Franken, WI. Heaven still touches earth here as it did when Mary appeared to a young Belgian immigrant woman, Adele Brise in 1859.The Blessed Virgin Mary asked Adele to tach the children of the area the contents of the faith that they were quickly losing. She took this task to heart and spent the rest of her life educating the people of northern Wisconsin. It is currently the only apparition site in the United States to be officially approved by the Catholic Church 150 years later.Take the time to spend a quiet afternoon there or attend a Mass. It is soothing to the mind and soul.
I have visited the shrine many times over the years, starting when I was under 10 years of age. Many fond memories with my Mum and brother and sisters walking/praying on the grounds and around the fenced in area praying at each corner shrine. Mass today was half English/part Latin. Mass was quite full, as it is now, I believe, a parish, plus visitors. Large parking lot. Beautiful stations of the cross and grounds. Shrine is the same today as it was over 40 years ago, built on the site where Mary appeared to Adele Brise all those years ago. Small gift shop and cafe.
We went to this place on our honeymoon two years ago, and we wanted to go back and do the rosary stations again. It's a little hard to find, but definitely worth looking for. It feels very spiritual for those that have a devotion to Mary.
While My wife and I were visiting her sister in June we visited the Shrine. This was neat. It was great to just sit that and reflect.
The shrine is the only one in the US that has been approved by the Church as a place where there was an apparition of the Virgin Mary. The event took place in the mid-1800's involving a nun by the name of Adele Brise. I am not a Catholic but reading about the site in our local newspaper piqued my interest. My husband and I were in the Green Bay area and decided to pay a visit. The first thing that struck me was the fact that the shrine is in the middle of farm fields, far from any village or city. In spite of that, the parking lot was quite full. We saw license plates from all over the US and even one from Canada. We walked around the grounds to view the garden and the burial site of Adele Brise. We stopped in the small chapel as well as the church which is used for mass. There is a gift shop and some items that I found interesting describing the history of the site . While a bit out of the way, the shrine was definitely worth the stop.
While visiting friends in Green Bay I was looking for places to visit on a rare day on my own. I found this on Trip Advisor and decided to take the drive. This treasure of a site is beautifully situated in the midst of farmland tucked away amongst the fields and farms. Take the time and walk the grounds, sit on a bench and just feel the peace of your surroundings. The church was open and it was nice to be able to go inside and feel the presence of His love. The gift shop was staffed by friendly, helpful folks and they carried a wide variety of items. Unexpectedly, after buying my gifts the clerks asked me if I would like my items blessed. How amazing is that? I was blessed as were my spiritual gifts.I wish I had read the amazing history of this Shrine before going to see it because I would have spent more time at the site.
The Virgin Mary appeared here as she did at Lourdes and Fatima. It's in our country, and is unknown. It's peaceful, beautiful, and the people ( not surprisingly) are very welcoming. It's for everyone...sitting there in the middle of farmland Wisconsin. Highly recommend.
How do you review a place such as this? Everyone will have their own private experience. But, It is very much worth visiting. Check out the website for daily mass schedules. Walk the grounds and the little coffee shop is a good place for refreshments.
This is a very interesting place to go. A lot of miracles have happened here and the shrine was spared from the great fire at the time of the Peshtigo fire!
A beautiful shrine devoted to Our Lady of Good Help. A serene chapel and beautiful well maintained grounds to pray. There are daily masses and a coffee shop to visit and a bite to eat. Reasonable priced religious gift shop on the grounds. Tip: Please be respectful to others during your visit and refrain from talking and turn off phones and not take flash photos in the chapel or basement area where the Holy Mother appeared many years ago, this is a very sacred area so please be respectful when others are present and praying.
My family and I went for Sunday Mass and to walk around the grounds. Mass was great, the priest's homily was very inspiring and honest. This is a very peaceful place to meditate and pray. The only suggestion to visitors is to wear comfortable shoes if planning on saying a walking Rosary and Stations of the Cross (weather permitting since it's all outside). I had fashion boots on and my feet weren't quite up to the challenge. The gift shop is full of great stuff at super reasonable prices.
