its the only way i can see a movie with my small children. there are rumors that they are closing. i hope this isn't the case. its been around since i was little.
It is still summer by the calendar but the air is crisp and cool. No time better than now with the absents of flying bug to ruin the pleasures of the big screen movie. There is nothing better than seeing a movie from the comfort of you car and no ones cell phone going off . Of for the memories of days gone by when we had TWO outdoor drive-in movie theaters. The days that the "real'' small size train would take the families for a ride before the movie would start. I wish the owner of this drive-in would really fix up and improve this tourist attraction IT IS A TRUE LANDMARK. Make it like back in the good old days because there are so few of there places left. We have people coming here from IL. , Racine and Milwaukee. These cities have last there Drive-In theaters. . Keno Drive-In is THE OLDEST OPERATING DRIVE-IN IN WISCONSIN......IT IS WISCONSIN'S LARGEST SOLO SCREEN DRIVE-IN, WITH CAPACITY FOR 800 VEHICLES.
One of a few drive in movie theaters left in WI, an annual summer outing for our family. You can bring your own snacks and drinks. However, entrance procedures are painfully slow and restrooms need updated.
Value for the $ is great. You get 2 first run movies for 8$ Adult & 4$ for kids up to 11 yrs. There really are not many of these drive-ins left, so I would say if you haven't been go, if you have been before go again. The concession prices here are real easy on the wallet. The staff for the most part are very sensitive to their customers, (Fred is a great host). Now you have to understand this place was probably built in the 1950's so do not expect high end amenities and you will have a great time.
Just over an hour from Chicago, nice little day trip when you combine it with other amusements in the area. Get there early, the traffic is insane! The line of cars was half a mile long well into the start of the first movie. Movies start at sundown, usually a kids movie first and then one for the adults. Cost is $8 for adults and you get to see 2 new release movies, so much cheaper than the city! People packed chairs, blankets, picnics, but there is also a snack shop that has some pretty good options.
Bring yot friends, family and your dog to enjoy current movies in the great outdoors. There are so few drive-ins left enjoy the experience
We waited in line for an hour and a half to get in. I can't believe that this establishment is not required to pay for traffic control. A rude little pirate patrols the parking lot, yelling at customers when he should put on a neon vest and direct traffic.
We had a blast at our first drive-in movie experience. We drove an hour to get here and will definitely go back. I now know why drive-ins were so popular: you can get as comfy as you want, listen as loud or as quietly as you prefer, bring the dog, bring your own food and beverages, enjoy FRESH air rather than stale air, see the stars (or lightening in our case). We'll never go to a theater for a summer flick again, this is by far a much more memorable way to see a one.
