Aftet years of driving by, we finally stopped and had a fabulous lunch. Homemade food and pleasant, friendly owners. Will definitely be back. Daily Pork Special is awesome.

We went to Mike's for a Monday evening meal with another couple after a day of kayaking. Our friends had been there before and endorsed the food and Northwoods atmosphere. Two of us ordered fish baskets with fries and coleslaw. The others ordered a burger and another sandwich. Every person in our party was disappointed with his/her meal. We were told that the fish is the same variety used in their Friday Fish Fry, but upon eating it we wondered if it had been fried the previous Friday and refried prior to our meal. The French fries were the worst we've had, overcooked. Perhaps Monday is a slower day and they didn't have their regular cook, but whatever the reason, Mike's will never have a second chance to improve upon our first impression.

This is not the place for fast food; its good food made from scratch but not fast. As many reviewers have said, Uncle Mike's takes time but they print that on the menu. Order the scratch made dips & chips and its 20 minutes, so don't rush just enjoy. Uncle mike's makes good hearty food, good portions, fair prices and has over 150 whiskeys and 86 beers on tap! Its well worth the time to sit and enjoy the day and all the choices they provide.
