glacier ridge animal farm

We just got back from a visit to Glacier Ridge with our two pre-teen granddaughters. They loved it. The animals are kept in large inclosed areas on the farm that can be reached by means of a long trail loop. The farm has a variety of chickens, geese and ducks, pot belly pigs, buffaloes, ostriches, emus, peacocks, llamas, alpacas, deer, buffalos, water buffalos, donkeys, wolves, monkeys, and several other animals that I did not recognize. Each visitor is given a loaf of bread with which to attract the animals and feed them. The stars, however, are the goats that come to greet you and show off their new born. All visitors to the Farm are given a loaf of bread to be used to attract and feed the animals. Any remaining bread can be thrown to the bull heads in the lake who put up a spectacular show. The trail is well kept and a pleasure to walk. The Farm is a privately owned attraction that is clearly a work of love on the part of the owners. The only problem is that it is normally open only on Fridays and week ends. But call on any day. They are open if they are home.

We visited Glacier Ridge 8/26/12 for the first time with our 3 grandchildren ages 9-12. It was amazing! If you are an animal lover, and want to get up close & personal with them, this is the place to visit! Farm animals & exotic pets alike. Very clean pens, animals are well fed and taken care of. You won't be disappointed. A great family fun atmosphere down on the farm.
