Every year Milwaukee celebrates the fourth of July with a big display of fireworks and Veterans Park is the place to be. Its very crowded so get there early
It is located by the War Memorial Building near the lakefront. Very senic and a good place to meet in the warmer months!
This park is clean, well- maintained, and fun. There is no limit to the fun you can have. Parking might be a bit dicey during warmer months, so plan ahead. It's a great place for families, couples, or just groups of friends. It's very near the Milwaukee Art Museum, which is also great. The water is clean, and parts of the beach are excellent for swimming or playing volleyball.
very moving a fulfilling sense of patriotism was part of a day of visiting the site with my favorite Aunt and Uncle
I was just driving around on business attempting to get my bearings when I noticed a nice park in tucked right off the highway; it was just a nice calming surprise to enjoy while getting to know the area. This was my first time getting to see Lake Michigan and it was quite a view....though I did get back in the car pretty quickly due to it being cold.
This is a gorgeous area in Milwaukee, and seemingly unknown as there's never a large amount of people here. I highly recommend stopping by the Gift of Wings Kite Store and picking up a kite, or bringing your own. Great place for picnics or just walking around as well.
This place is a nice little park and beach located in Milwaukee on Lake Michigan. The view of the lake is pretty.
Lots of steps up & down, but a nice walk with lots of interesting thing to see & do. Loaded with restaurants and shops. Fresh air along the water and friendly people.
Veteran’s Park is located directly east of downtown Milwaukee on Lake Michigan. It is also directly south of McKinley Park and the McKinley Marina. These two parks are connected and I was not exactly sure where one park ended and the other started. In addition, I am not sure why they consider these two separate smaller parks instead of one larger park. Both of these parks are nice and were both very clean.I went with my wife on a Sunday morning in early August and really enjoyed this nice downtown park. It is a quiet spot near some of the busiest streets in downtown Milwaukee. There are paved trails along the waterfront that are great to walk or bike on. There is also a huge open space for picnicking, playing Frisbee, tossing a ball or just relaxing. There is a kite and bike rental store in the center of the park. My wife and I stopped here and rented a tandem bicycle (a bicycle built for two). Riding the tandem bike was a blast but it took a few minutes for us to figure how to coordinate pedaling and breaking. My wife and I walked the first part and then biked the rest of the way. The Park seemed perfectly safe as the only other people we saw were fellow hikers and bikers (the only safety issue were people hogging the entire walking path and not sharing the path).Overall I had a great time at this nice downtown park (primarily due to the bike rental shop) and recommend it. This park has to be very handy for people working in downtown Milwaukee that want to exercise after work or during their lunch breaks. Finally, I enjoyed the great views of Lake Michigan and downtown Milwaukee.
My husband and I rented Bikes and rode all the way from the South entrance by the Festival grounds up along the Lake to Brady Street. It was a Sunday and there were people walking their dogs, pushing their children in strollers, and skating. It was a very nice ride thru native habitat.
Amazing location for kite flying, picnics boat rides, bike rides and fishing. Near the War Memorial not far from downtown
This is a park right down by the lakefront. It is beautiful and has a kite shop and a place you can rent paddle boats to go on the pond with. kites can be flying everywhere on any given day.
I love the lake front. The views are stunning. Very clean and very family friendly. The sailing center adds a touch of class to the backdrop of the skyline. The kite shop is a must visit for children and adults alike. Enjoy a senic stroll along the lake front that is approximately 2-3 miles of stunning beauty.
My kids loved walking along Lake Michigan. Great kite shop and bike rentals available. Views of the lake and marina were wonderful.
Lots of activity along the expanded parkway system on the lakefront. Walkers, bicycles, kites, sailboats and kayaks indicate the prolific use of this area. The Veteran's memorial was simple, and provided a good space to reflect on its purpose. Keep walking, and you see the lovely art museum and views of downtown buildings. Safe and clean.
