Read 2 reviews from SaHoppa & hinkgen (they both listed GB as where they live/Home Town)? I've lived in GB off/on as well. Made a visit Mid July 2014. It's a man made lake, the water is still opaque/mucky, not clean in my opinion, & most importantly: they still seem to employ young teen age employees "Life Guards" that should be taking their job more seriously. Been here many times. This HAS to change. Enough said.
This is a fun place for all ages. Nice and clean and very reasonable for a full day of entertainment for the kids
Great beach and swimming for the kids. Can spend the day here, but you can't bring in your own food...
We had our dog there and played ball with her. Didn't find out till just before we left, on the list of rules, Rule #4 is No Dogs on the Parkway. Oh well, we had fun anyhow.
This is a man made small lake surrounded by a fence. It's just ok, better than Green Bay's public pools, wish there would be another option. Sadly, this is the only option without traveling for hours.Food/Drinks are not allowed beyond the fence. Admissions are high considering the location.
the more things change, the more they stay the same. Sounds like its just a cliche, however, that's exactly what's going on here. It says alot that the park can maintain its grounds and manmade pool just as it did while I was growing up. Very clean, and yet the same original beauty it has always had. Pavillion areas are clean and excellent for family reunions, pool is clean and servicable (don't have to second guess yourself or anybody about going into the pool or not), ball diamonds are kept up well by groundskeepers, and it truly is a nice spot to take a stroll through, stop for lunch, play ball, have a BBQ, or whatever it is you do in public parks for entertainment.
This is a man-made lake with a volleyball net. They sell snacks but don't allow them on the beach. No music on the beach either. And they make everybody get out every 30 minutes for a "break" that usually lasts 15+ minutes while the teenage lifeguards dive off the platform and goof around. I live here and I rarely go.
This park is really pretty. However, if you have little kids to watch...it can be very freaky because the water is not clear and you cannot see them when they are under the surface. The sand is totally fun to play around in. Lots and lots of teens hang out here.
This Park has a lot to offer from ball diamonds, batting cages, lake with beach, many picnic areas and just plain relaxing spots all along the Fox River! There is a small fee for the lake part, but it's nice and you can usually find your own little spot to hang out! Get hot? Take a dip in the water and then relax on your own chair or towel to dry off. Wonderful spot for family and kids!
The baseball accomdations were fantastic. Canopy over the bleachers at each diamond. WOnderful set up. We will be back next year:)
A winding drive takes you through this picturesque park with a sandy swimming beach (fee) and around to a baseball field and several picnic pavillions. You can rent the pavillions in advance for a fee if you want to reserve the shelter for the day. Some are equipped with picnic tables, electricity outlets, garbage cans, and bathrooms attached. There are different locations of shelters throughout the park. There is one by the lake with a water view and another next to a playground. Note: The village has an ordinance that alcohol is permitted after Memorial Day.
