Worth the visit. See the inside of the house and then take a walk to the backyard. The view is stunning! Just think, a family got the pleasure of living in this beautiful home!
My wife and I spent a Saturday afternoon wandering through the park during their Christmas event. The tours are informative and they also have "concerts"in the Moravian Church. There are hayrides available too. It's a great way to learn about the history of Green Bay and NE Wisconsin.
We've attended Heritage State Park several times for the Laura Ingalls Wilder days. Great place to take the family for some educational fun. We learn something new every time we go and really enjoy the hands-on activities.
My daughter and I love going here for the Halloween event and Christmas. They also have a porkies and pancake breakfast with fun activities. I just like that for holiday celebrations you are still showing these from a historical view.
We got to Heritage Hill a few times a year - they have fun events and it is a great learning experience for the kids. It also is fun in the winter when they have horse rides....although it can be cold in GB at that time of the year!
We really enjoyed our trip here. Lots to see and do and the staff was incredibly nice. The kids loved the interactive exhibits and we all learned while having fun!
Had a great day at Heritage Hill! The weather was perfect so that didn't hurt. We went on a Thursday and there were no crowds at all. We were able to go back to our car and have a picnic lunch halfway through the day. There were some picnic tables out front with plenty of shade. We went back into the park after lunch and utilized the trolly to take us from each section of the park. The interpreters in the buildings were very informative and my children (ages 4-9) enjoyed learning about life in the old days. The only negative is that some of the interpreters were a bit long winded. When talking to a family with young children they should know to give the quick version as kids who are standing in a room of antiques get bored quickly. Great outdoor museum!
Spent two hours here. Learn how they did things in the 19th century. About 6 building had interpreters so we got through in about 2 hours. All buildings were open and if more had interpreters it would have taken much longer.
We were here for the Christmas displays and just enjoyed the day away. High school carolers, Virginia Rio dancing, watching the cooling displays, and so much more. Go you will love it!
Great place to take the kids and experience American History. Heritage Hill has lots of children's programs and a variety of things to do!
There are a good many buildings on the grounds representing various ethnicities and eras from around Green Bay/Fort Howard area. There is often a themed weekend event and that will add to the fun things they have year round. Although it's technically part of the state park system, the annual park sticker does not provide admission, but the entry fee is modest. Very family friendly and educational all at the same time.
It was a hot and humid day, but it was still fun to walk around and visit the different areas! My daughter learned a lot and loved it! I'm hoping this helped my daughter get interested in reading the Little House on the Prairie series.
I took my kids here and it was so neat! They learned a lot and so did I! The workers really get in to character. Very well done!
We enjoyed our visit especially the fur trapper building. The park guides were all very knowledgeable and enjoyed interacting with the guests. I can appreciate how difficult it must be for the building guides to guard the artifacts they are entrusted with while smiling and talking to visitors who don't bother to read signs and follow common courtesies. A worthwhile family activity.
Had a wonderful time walking around and seeing how things were done so long ago. It was great to be able to meet Dean Butler and Allison Ingram from LHOTP. Great people. Everyone there was very nice.
