Attended the Bloomsburg vs Rider wrestling matchat the field house. Beautiful, state of the art facility. Toured the campus and was impressed by the number of new buildings.
Great staff and clean rooms. Very affordable! I would most definitely recommend this hotel to others.
Bloomsburg University is a nice, clean campus. The facilities are well kept and I would give the gym 4.5 stars if it were a separate review. The majority of the faculty is also good and genuinely care about their students. I also loved the town and would consider living their again if I someday moved back. The reason I knocked it down two stars is because the university has admitted far more students than they can support. There was never sufficient parking for commuter students and it was difficult to schedule the classes you needed. Admitting so many students also seemed to lower the bar for who they let in and I saw many students who, I had to wonder even passed high school or even dress themselves. Also do not be swayed by some of the reviews by "townies." There has always existed some animosity between some members of the community and the school. I grew up not to far from the school and lived in the town while I went there. I have seen the student side and the "townie" side of things. Yes some students do get out of hand, but there are also plenty of locals who were not model citizens themselves. However despite this if the school did not exist the town would not be as nice as it is and it has contributed greatly to the town.
What a fabulous University; the grounds, facilities, offices, are spectacular. The location is beautiful countryside.
in a word, this college has destroyed what was once a fine community, with the support of a newspaper which feels that without the college, the town would fade away... sounds like the same rationale often heard in vietnam... hooligans -- and that's an affront to actual hooligans, some of whom are friends of ours -- roar unchecked throughout the town at all hours, even during "vacation"... most universities give back to a town... not bloom, which only takes, and imposing on this town the sort of parking regulations that only the late rube goldberg would applaud...
A little unorganized and couldn't hear what was being said. They have the speakers set up in the front and back, but if you are sitting in the middle you can't hear. That's okay she graduated!
Our daughter graduated with El Ed and Special Ed and found employment immediately because she was so well prepared.
Title says it all. Of all the state schools we visited Bloomsbury is #1! We have a senior @ Temple and a sophomore @ ESU. The freshman is the luckiest by far. Our junior in high school cannot wait to graduate in two years to join her sister as a Bloomsbury Husky!
As an Alum, I feel like the educational opportunities have shrunk at the college since the late 80's. You could do SO MANY MORE things, explore and share more experiences with your professors and fellow students than you can now. The students today are funnelled into larger class sizes, have a limited choice of majors, and are less connected to the over-worked professors. Bigger is NOT BETTER!
I went to this school and they are continually doing upgrades to make it better. The science departments are top notch, I can't really speak for the rest of the departments, but some of the Arts classes I had were terrible. I know quite a few graduates who are now gainfully employed. They always call and ask me for donations which is annoying because I'm still paying on my school loans.
we were there for the track and field Psac event everything was clean and very well cared for.
A highly rated university for any student looking to further his or her education.
Bloomsburg U. is a great, smaller state school with great value. You are not just a number there like at Penn State. You get a good education and your dollar goes a lot further.
BU is a place that is growing more beautiful with each passing year. I don't know that I would say the academics are keeping par with the greening of the facility. Our son took a class here last semester and was VERY disappointed in the diversity of classes being offered. The cultural events are usually stellar, the library is a great place to grab a Starbucks and a good read, but I am not sure I would encourage a student to come here if you want to have a diverse class schedule available to you. I was sad as a BU grad to see the increased class sizes and decreased class diversity. TOO BAD!
familiar with the college..since I grew up here..sorry went to LCCC for my degree
