This well maintained county park is excellent for walking or running on paved trails. You can fish or boat (no motors). Very scenic!
This park has so much to offer: water sports (kayaking, fishing, sailing), hiking, biking, running, playgrounds, picnic areas, and the gem: Peace Valley Nature Center. It is the type of park that should be visited often and during different seasons (sledding and cross country skiing in the winter). The nature center has very knowledgeable volunteers who share such a variety of facts and experiences for all ages. This is a gem!
Peace valley park has a paved trail that goes around the entire lake suitable for wheelchairs. The area is beautiful and there are benches along the path. Many picnic tables but some would require crossing a grassy area. If you enter via the Meyers Road entrance off of Creek Road you come to a large parking area. There are two designated parking spots with concrete surfaces connecting to the paved paths and h/c accessible bathrooms. Other parking spaces are on gravel surfaces which could be rough for wheelchairs though not impossible. Once on the paved trail surface travel via wheelchair is fairly smooth with occasional rough and repaired spots. Part of the trail goes through a steeper wooded area which could be challenging for someone pushing a manual wheelchair.
Lovely park for family picnics, group celebrations. There are classes for children, pond to explore, great biking/walking trail around their lake and plenty of picnic tables. Great spot for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors.
Peaceful setting for running and relaxing. Boat rentals available as well as picnic areas. Well worth a visit.
We love picnicking by the lake, kayaking, and sailing on beautiful Lake Galena. A wonderful, tranquil place.
We recently discovered this little gem and have been there 3 times in the past couple of weeks. This is a beautiful park that surrounds Lake Galena. They have a bike loop that goes around the entire lake and I think its about 6 to 10 miles, but aside from that there is much more to do. The paths are great for walking with ample picnic tables or benches to sit and view the tranquil scenery. We started taking our own chairs to find a spot we like. We take our dog with us so find a spot in the shade to sit and relax. There are clean restrooms and boat rentals. We were on the Creek Rd side but it looks like you can also rent on the Galena Road side as well. They also have a nature center but we haven't explored that yet.
This park surrounds wonderful Galena Lake in Bucks County. The Nature Center is on the eastern shore and a must see area for wildlife and bird lovers. Fabulous trails for hiking or biking or just a casual stroll. Wonderful birds along the lake, from Green and Blue Herons to Egrets, Osprey and even Eagles. The nature center building has nice restrooms, informative exhibits and an extensive store. All kinds of camps and programs for kids are offered. They have a bird blind in the woods where you can watch all kinds of birds in feeders. I am a bird photographer, and this is one of my favorite spots.
Peace Valley Park is one of my favorite places! I have been visiting the park since I was a little girl. It's a great place to take photos and explore. I especially love the bird blind located near the nature center on Chapman Rd.
I like going maybe once a year but sometimes not appealing. I think it could be nicer with less Geese droppings and overflowing trash bins. Now maybe I go a the wrong times but I think Tyler park is much nicer and more scenic. I will make the longer drive to go there for a walk.
Yesterday was my first visit to this wonderful park, though much of our family has been coming here for decades. A beautiful, expansive green space with plenty of opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Great place to walk, with tranquil views in every direction. So many beautiful birds! The only precaution would be for parents with their little ones or for slower-moving people walking along the paths. Bikers frequently zoom past parents with small children and the elders taking it slowly. More than a little scary at times. On the positive side, clean rest rooms with functioning drinking fountains are a great convenience.
Picnics in the park can be a lot of fun, whether you stay on the boat rental side or Saylor's lake on the other side of the Lake. Pleasant walks thru the park, 6 miles around the lake. Lots of wildlife. Birds galore.
Peace Valley is a beautiful public park in the heart of Bucks County, but it is in desperate need of renovations to its walking/bicycle path. The paths are in disrepair, but more importantly, need to be widened to provide walkers a safe path free from speeding bicycles. There's plenty of room for two separate paths. This would make a dramatic positive improvement to this beautiful, sometimes crowded path.
Have been coming here for many years. Always enjoyable. Have biked, hiked, boated, partied, picniced, and cooked out here. It's always great. Small downside is the bathrooms are closed from around October to March (not sure of dates), so plan accordingly. On the up side, Peace Valley Winery is right around the corner. We have stopped there to sample and buy some wine, then gone to the park to relax.
This is a special gem and worth a visit on a nice day....and if you travel to the opposite side of the lake, follow the road, you will find the sweetest Lavendar Farm...Peace Valley Lavendar Farm...Mid June to Mid July is bloom season...they are open Thurs-Sun and have a really nice gift shop.....
