Warm Springs is a place that makes you instantly feel like you're no longer in Chambersburg, just by walking in. Pleasant atmosphere, and a slight snootiness greets you. It's posh and a bit uppity. It' doesn't look exciting from the outside. Standard building. Once inside, you're promptly greeted. You had better have an appointment, that's the only way they do things here. The young lady behind the desk got me checked in for my hair-cut appointment, and took my coat to hang it up. She sent me to the waiting room where I found a comfy seat by the space heater on the cold, snowy day I went. The waiting room has soft, relaxation music playing. There is a beverage station which I did not partake in, but had a great selection of specialty coffees. When I was taken back to the salon section of the building, I walked into a busy place. Lots of women having their hair done, and one guy. Hip, modern music played in the background.First you discuss with your stylist what you want to have done. I had Maria, and she listened and offered small suggestions and made sure it was all clear to her before beginning. You're treated to a brief, but lovely, scalp and neck massage. Then, a relaxing hair wash. The products they use are the salon good stuff that smells amazing! After that comes the cutting. She was precise, careful, and took her time to make sure everything was even and done right. I had a little framing done to the front of my hair around my face, and she did so well with that! After drying my hair and giving it a little style, she ensured I was satisfied. If I wasn't, she would have gone back to try to fix whatever I didn't like, but I loved it.Women get a complimentary makeup refresher with a makeup artist. I don't wear makeup, but it was interesting to see what I looked like with it on. She told me she'd keep it neutral and light, but her definition of light and mine are totally different! It was still fun to have it done, though.I had a gift card, which is really the only reason I went here. Normally I go to a cheap place that rushes you and isn't so careful, but it's in my price range. Going to Warm Springs was certainly a treat. You choose from several levels of stylists. The lowest is the cheapest, $25 for a cut. The higher levels run you much more, but I really don't see what they have to offer other over the lower levels. I guess if you're getting some crazy color theme or off-the-wall cut perhaps their expertise would come in handy. Or, if you have tons of money to spend on extra pampering and catering you'd go for the top level. Meh, I'm fine with the lowest level.I think it's a nice place. I don't have a budget that allows for routine visits for all of the great services they offer, but if I did, I'd certainly be here all the time!
