susquehannock state park

This place is at an hour's drive from my home. We saw some great reviews and decided to go there , however, realized that this place is better enjoyed as a group. You can take your food and enjoy the picnic. The walking trails gives you a feel of a jungle.

We did not spend a ton of time in this park, but the overlook is absolutely gorgeous. The park is decent size, and you can watch the birds soaring over the river. Cannot wait to spend more time here!

Good hiking trail but not always well marked. Plenty of restroom facilities and picnic and bbq areas. The gem is the Hawk Point lookout. Great views of the river and if you stay a while you will get to see raptors soaring a few feet away from you.

The Rhododendron Trail is one of my favorite trails because it is very challenging. However, there are some areas along the trail that are very confusing because of poor signage/markings. I hiked this past week-end and because of the extensive ground cover, it was difficult to follow the trail. There are some sharp turns and steep rims, so it's imperative to know what direction to take. Several tricky areas were unmarked, thus detracting from the overall enjoyment of the hike. Both Hawk's Point and Wissler's Run overlooks are very scenic. Too bad I could not have rated this park higher.
