I love Round Hill Park. I often took my son here when he was younger. I still go to walk around and enjoy the beauty of the plants and animals which are found in this park. I highly recommend it for a free family outing.
This is a great place for families. The picnic areas are beautiful. There are nice play areas for the children, a working farm to visit, and ducks to feed. Round Hill Park is a wonderful place to spend the day with family and friends.
All sorts of farm animals for kids (and their parents) to enjoy watching - pigs, chickens, rabbits, cows, (dairy and beef) horses , ducks. You can watched cows being milked - horses that come right up to the fence around field and you can pet them. You can take your time going through the farm - no large crowds or people hurrying you along - no fee and parking right on site. Just a really pleasant setting to spend time in with your kids. Located just a few miles from my home - took my kids there numerous times each year as they were growing up - they are in their fifties now - so taking their kids when they come for a visit.
This is a wonderful place to take the grand kids - they have a working farm with many different animals - plus there's a great spray park to get cooled off
We go here at least once a month. There's a real working farm and you can pet the animals, a lake where you can feed the fish/geese, an amazing handicap accessible playground, and a sprinkler water area. Everything is free and it's the perfect way to spend the day!
It has been awhile since we had last visited, but we were not at all disappointed I going through the Exhibit Farm. We wished that more of the animals were in the barns, however, being summer they were out in the fields where they belong. A very nice park, that is well maintained with lots of children enjoying the playground equipment. Have to come back in the fall where the animals are in the barns and can be seen close up.
Round Hill Park is one of the best little/big parks in the area. You can visit the farm, feed the animals, pack a lunch and have a wonderful afternoon, try the swings, slide or have fun in the splash zone for little ones
We took our 15-month old here for a couple of hours on a Sunday afternoon. It was beautiful weather, which added to the very idyllic scenery of this park. Our little boy was very excited to see the animals up close at the Exhibit Farm. The Exhibit Farm is just the right size for kids, not too spread out. You can follow the pasture fences if you want some more exercise and more lovely views, but you'll need a stroller that can handle grassy lanes. We found a beautiful picnic spot at the top of a hill. Just beyond our picnic spot, there was a picnic shelter with a swing set and restrooms with running water. We hope to return on another day to try out the spray park and larger playground that is elsewhere in the park, and to do some more exploring. I do recommend, as another reviewer did, to bring your own food and drink in, as there seems to be very little nearby where you could pick up a picnic lunch (ie: sandwiches) other than local sit-down restaurants and pubs. If you are coming down Rt 51 from Pittsburgh, the Southland shopping plaza in Pleasant Hills seems to be the last major shopping area before you get to Round Hill Park, so stop there to pick up sandwiches or just pack your own. About 3 miles south of Round Hill on Rt 51, there is gas station, convenience store, Dairy Queen and Dunkin Donuts, plus a nice farm stand on the northbound side of Rt 51.Overall, I think this park is a beautiful and important resource for the community and the greater Pittsburgh area. I think it's also wonderful that it is free and open to everyone.
Round Hill has always held a special place in my heart. My grandparents would take my brothers and me there very often to picnic and enjoy the farm animals. Though the park part of it is in great condition, for some reason, we just never really used that part of the park. We always loved feeding the ducks at the pond, relaxing, and viewing the animals. It has always been well-maintained and is enjoyed by so many people throughout the year. It's hard to believe such a relaxing place could be free, but I am very grateful that it is! So looking forward to taking my future children there!! :) Thanks Round Hill staff!!!
I babysit so we go here a lot the kids love to feed the ducks. The last time we were ther the babies were born chicks and sheep and calf so cute.also the new playground is wonderful next trip we will take the swimsuits and go to the little water park should be a good day to have a picnic will be going soon.
Really nice park has a group of animals for the children to go see and many pavillions for picnics. Place also to feed the geese. Great place
Took the kids on a field trip to experience a "working farm" and then picnic in the park. It was okay for that experience but would not visit for any other reason
We take the kids a couple times every year. Absolutely love it there. Feed the animals picnic in the park. So much to do and it's easy on the wallet
Want to get back to nature, have a pick nick, see some animals and relax. Round hill part is for you and your kids and grandkids. Heck it’s good for you alone. It’s like a cleansing of worry from your mind to just sit and relax and take in nature. Do it for your loved ones, but do it also for you!
The park is a wonderful place to take the kids. There is a pond with ducks and geese, who love to be fed. I always go in the winter, when no one else is there. During the summer, there is also a water area for the kids to play in. There are stables with horses, lambs, goats, etc. Fun.
