I have been to many wine tasting establishments, but Flickerwood in Kennett Square was well worth a stop! Our server was beyond friendly, knew her wine and gave us great recommendations! The key to me is whether I end up buying wine to take home..and I did!!
My college room mate and I shared a delightful hour of relaxation and conversation. The gal behind the wine bar gave excellent suggestions for the reds we like and shared her knowledge of companion cheeses...super yummy! Just the appetizers we needed! Came away with three bottles for home. A great find on a rainy afternoon. Will definitely come back again. Thanks!
When you get there you can enjoy wine will sitting in the comfort of your living room! I love the feeling! ❤️
Decided to stop in on a Saturday night. Wine bar was pretty crowded but we were able to get a couple of seats. We tried a flight of dry reds and one white. Neither of us were impressed with any of the wines. Such a shame since the atmosphere and music was pretty cool.
We stopped by Flickerwood on the recommendation of a family member. From start to finish, we were charmed by the staff... very friendly, knowledgeable about their product, not at all pushy. The music theme keeps the atmosphere upbeat and fun.We enjoyed two wine flights, mine was white and his was red, with two delicious cheeses. As with most tastings, we found a couple of offerings that really appealed to us and took home a few bottles to enjoy in the coming months. We will definitely return on our next trip into the Brandywine region.
Stopped in for a tasting with my spouse. We had 2 different flights of wine. The flights were reasonably priced but none of the wines were that great. One or two of each flight were more enjoyable than the others, but the whites were not chilled which detracted from the experience. We won't be returning.
REALLY wished I liked their wines because the tasting room is cute and very reasonably priced. Nice place to stop in before going to a local BYO restaurant.
I went to the Kennett Square tasting room last weekend for the first time with some girlfriends...we met the wine makers had a wonderful time...I mentioned at that point we would be coming back the following Sunday as a surprise "date" with my husband...discussed what types of food could be brought...ect...we rode up there yesterday from Delaware...went across the street around 11:45 ordered food...and then waited...and waited and no one ever showed up to open...I checked the web site no notes about being closed...no note on the door...other than the hours for operation on Sunday's...our previous wonderful visit was certainly overshadowed by yesterday's "no show"...and after sending the note to the email listed did not even get the courtesy of a reply. With the large number of wineries and tasting rooms available you would think customer service would play an important role or even a role to small businesses like this...but evidently not!
Stopped in on a Saturday with our lunch and were able to try some great wine, purchase a glass that we liked in a welcoming environment. Cheese and crackers were also available for purchase.
We went to Flickerwood on our way into a BYOB and well really the wine was ok, the facility was better and the staff were really nice! I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again, but an average bottle of wine can be found in a pinch.
You know those coffee shops that play coffee shop muzak, create a cozy atmosphere, have tinkling laughter in the background and serve a great latte? Well, this is the wine equivalent. The owners, Tammy and Julie, are so welcoming and really take care of your taste buds. We go up to this area annually to visit family and we always always always stop in to Flickerwood. It's just a great afternoon to taste their latest creation or enjoy some of our favorites. The flights are well-priced and delicious, and there really is something for everyone. They'll let you BYOF (bring your own food) or their cheese trays have some amazing selections. There's always a big group of us and invariably we find the establishment well-packed with other patrons but with enough room for us to entertain, too. I'm happy to see this place so successful because it's always an enjoyable experience. It's also conveniently "downtown" so there are lots of cute shops all around if you wanted to spend a couple of hours walking and shopping.
We had a great time unwinding and meeting with the locals and getting their secrets of where to eat in this town. Easy going, laid back atmosphere in an upscale setting. It was fun trying all the win flights and visiting with the locals.
