For 18 holes with sand traps and electric golf carts this is a challenging yet all land and tree's coarse. The club house offers award winning dining/ ok size bar seating for early spring to early fall. There's a small golf club shop to place reservations and to rent golf carts and to purchase a small selection of golf balls, clubs and shoes no club rentals though. I you like a golf coarse with no water hazards than this is it. The only water on the coarse is a small pond with fountain in the middle as you enter parking lot just off the first hole, where you place your tee shot. Personally I find it rather boring cause I like water hazards when I golf and it brings better appreciation to my game when a coarse offers these challenges.
This is a very well maintained township course. Not too long but hilly. It is spoilt by starting times too close together which causes a lot of waiting around to play shots on busy days. Unfortunately it attracts a lot of mediocre golfers nd play can be very slow as a result. But if not held up it is a delightful course to play.
Excellent atmosphere, especially deck dining. Food is consistently hot and prepared fast...always like going here. Wings are especially tasty. Staff very nice.....OH and the course is pretty slammin' also!!
Not your run of the mill experience! Extremely good food, and great service! Ate after a round of golf.. very cozy, quiet and relaxing.
Good pricing for a muni layout. Greens are in great shape along with the fairways. Good value for the buck. Great senior rate. The Caddy Shack has good food and cold beverages and it's just behind the 18'th green. Dine in or on the deck.
The most rounds played in Central Pa year after year..Why? The course is operated and maintained by Hampden Township. Course is always in good to excellent conditions and your can beat the price..If you want to play a challenging course for not a lot of $$$. This is for you,
This course is great for a public course. The grounds are very well kept and the pro shop staff are very friendly. When the weather permits, the outdoor deck is fun for casual dining. The food is good for the most part.
Armitage is a very nice public golf course that offers some rolling terrain. Prices are good - especially if you are a Hampden Township resident. It's a pretty busy course. They have a restaurant, a deck that is open spring through fall and also have a special event room. None of these have a "nice" atmosphere (the deck can get very loud) but all serve their purpose. French onion soup, chili, the cobb salad and several other items are always good. Others may be hit or miss. Staff is friendly.
Well maintained. Play can be slow sometimes because of popularity. Back nine is more challenging because of sloping greens, out of bounds, and wooded areas
We go to Armitage every so often for retirement and farewell luncheons. I've tried a number of different lunch specials from cheesesteaks to wings to salads. All were small portions and just average in taste. Wouldn't really miss it if I didn't return.
The restaurant has a nice variety on their menu. They are known for their wing buckets and a nice variety of flavors, but I like their quesadillas too! and the beer is always cold!
I really enjoy playing at this course. The pro shop staff is always friendly. This course is well taken care of and a lot of fun to play.
Nice, somewhat short course. A lot of trees make it more challenging. It has a very good restaurant.
This is a worthwile place to golf. Easy course, good service and the Caddy Shack is excellent. 4 Stars
I have played many courses in Central Pa. and Armitage is one of my favorites. Not a long course by any means but tree lined and well bunkered. Greens are true and usually on the fast side (I like them fast). Owned and operated by Hampden Township so conditon of the course is always good. You don't have to hit it long..but you must be straight. Always enjoy plaing it.
