This zoo is so different than going to the big zoo, but all in a good way! No traffic to deal with, no crowds and so handy. You get to see the animals up close, it is set in such a natural setting, that you can't help but enjoy your day there. We had more fun going there than going into the city. Plus you are not far from other attractions like Moraine State Park.
you can feed alot of the animals. really nice for a small zoo. they had camel and pony rides too...... you wont be disapointed
This is an excellent animal park to visit, you get to see the animals up close, and hand feed some of them, the white tiger and black cougar are worth the trip, but with all the other animals, we spent all afternoon there just taking our time walking around then going back to see what animals had decided to move from spot to spot, , if you like animals this is a must see.
We took our children and grandchildren and everyone had a wonderful time!! The animals were well kept, areas were extremely clean. All personnel were very friendly. Avery nice animal park!!!
We loved this zoo had a wonderful time the staff is excellent great we can't say enough good things about them. The animals seemed to have more than enough room to live and they seemed very happy. We got our picture taken with the baby kangaroo and wallaby and had a great experience with the babies and the zoo handler she was great very knowledgeable and friendly could have talked to her for hours (we did talk to her for at least 45 minutes it was a great unforgettable experience). We wished we lived closer so we could go to the zoo more often . I know there is another zoo with the same name but they are not comparable take the extra time and go to this one in new castle and skip the other one you will not be disappointed. Thank you guys for a lovely day we will be back As a tip buy extra bags of food and bring quarters for the feed stations
I love this place. It's the perfect size for my one and four year old. You pack a lunch. Enjoy the easy stroll. Feed the animals. Great playground. And get an amazing experience of meeting two giraffes face to face. The restrooms are always clean when I've been there. The gift shop has great toys that are reasonably priced.Great memories.
We drive to this animal park a couple times a year we love it so much. They have a great assortment of animals and you can even feed them and pet them. You can buy feed in a bucket and carrots for $3.50 and have a good ole time. There are always lots of babies to see and enjoy and you can even get your pix taken with a baby kangaroo. For the little ones there is a camel ride and pony rides. The workers are very friendly and helpful. Great gift shop. Great place to spend a couple hours if you love animals and love to touch.
This is by far one of the best animal parks I have been too! You were able to feed virtually everything in the park. You were also able to get very close to a majority of the animals even petting them while feeding them from your hand. The price of admission was very reasonable.
Great place to see some animals you might not usually get to see. Feeding them is a lot of fun! Took our daughter and she loved it,as did my wife and I. Kids can ride a camel or pony for like $5 I think it was. Nice gift shop with the usual items. Really great zoo and you don't have to drive into the city to get there.
Excellent day out with the kids! We went at opening around 10 AM. Had no problem feeding the animals. My kids loved petting the kangaroos and riding the camel. Very clean place The exhibits look like new and the animals seem very well cared for. Staff were available around various areas of the park and answered questions and were caring for exhibits. We will definitely return!
Pros: -affordable!-hands on-nice picnic area with tables and umbrellas-gift shop is affordable too!-nice bathroom-perfect size for young childrenCons:-small parking lot-limited concessions-you buy food at the entrance for the animals but then many animals don't eat it and you have to buy special food at exhibit-no mapsTips:-save some food for the end, that is where the giraffe (they only eat carrots) and "petting zoo" is -pack a lunch/snack-go early -take quarters for buying food at the different stations: alligators, birds, monkeys. I only saw one change machine
Nice place to spend 1/2 day in summer, the other half u can go to moraine state park, canoe, kayak, or rent a boat, etc, or go to grove city outlet mall. U can also visit transportation museum. The speciality of this place is u get to feed almost all the animals from A to Z with ur own hands or by putting through the tube. They sell carrots or some grains. My best experience was the tiger was really grumpy and roaring a lot, and the opposite monkey kept on hitting the glass with a small rock which I will never forget. Good experience. They also have camel ride, pony ride, take a picture holding baby kangaroo, snake, etc.
My family and I went to Living Treasures on a whim. We've driven past many times and never stopped. I'm now kicking myself. Living Treasures is great! The parking is good, the cost is reasonable and the animals are fantastic! And they have way more than I would have expected. Tigers, leopards, monkeys, camels and giraffes at a "petting" zoo?! You bet. Plenty of entertainment for the whole family. There's a picnic area and snacks available in the gift shop. Plus, if you have little ones, you can rent a stroller. Did I mention you can have your picture taken with a baby kangaroo? Or ride a camel or a pony? These things cost a little extra, but make for a good memories.
This is a must-see "petting zoo". For a small price, you can feed and pet many animals, ranging from common (goats), to rare (giraffes). Very clean facility and animals have large, nice habitats.
Let me start by saying my family holds perennial season passes to the National Aviary, Pittsburgh Zoo, Phipps Conservatory and Living Treasures. Save your money and skip the passes to the Zoo and buy your membership here! We have been to both locations numerous times and hands down prefer the New Castle location. SO many friendly animals! (well taken care of) if you want an experience to last a lifetime come here! Prices so reasonable and animal interactions are second to none! We spend $21 on carrots and feed and spend a min. Of 3 hours each visit!
