A great way to spend some time in this great little town. Yes, some antiques are overpriced, but there are a HUGE amount of antique to see, and, if you are really serious about buying, I think you will be able to find something in your price range. Everything seems to be clean and in good shape. There really was a lot to see. Give yourself ample time to go through this HUGE space. Besides, it does not cost anything to look, and it is a great way to spend the day. I was disappointed that the owner was not there as I wanted to find out more about the paranormal readings, etc., that they do here. I will have to make a special trip back to do this. After you are done here, I would treat yourself to lunch/dinner at Little Everett's BBQ in Hanover. I would also take a trip to the Hanover Area Artists Guild and Gallery. Couple this with a visit to Gettysburg and you have a really nice weekend.

We were really excited for this place as it is 30,000 square feet. Very neatly set up inside with so much stuff you could spend an entire day here. Problem is that EVERYTHING is so overpriced it scares you off from even enjoying looking at things. I found a couple things that I really liked but could never even imagine spending the money they were asking for the price they had marked. I've seen a lot of similar stuff for so much less money. Unless you have a lot of extra money burning a hole in your pocket, best to stay away from here. Also the seance room in the basement was just awkward and unnecessary. Close off the room during the day.

Had a day of antiquing with our boys age 16. Stopped here and Golden Lane had a ton of antiques from large to small. Be careful you don't get lost as it is so huge. The items were displayed neatly. Most were pretty pricey for us though and I did not get to the basement but my boys said it was pretty creepy down there. I would recommend this stop for antiquing if you are in this area.

My husband and I love to go antiquing even though we have a modest income. We stopped by this gallery for the first time and were shocked at the overall prices. You need to be a decorator or $$$,$$$ to purchase from here. For example, we saw one Popeye cartoon book from the 1930s for $125.00, earlier in the day I saw the exact same book at another store for $4.00. I kid you not. Although it offered a variety of items we wont be returning. On a side note, the basement REEKED of must and the top floor had fans drying out several water puddles/roof leaks. I would cringe to think there are $1000+ items of furniture sitting in a place with so many water issues.

Very large antique shop with some great pieces. However, the major disappointment was a paranormal room set up for tours. Although I am intrigued by the subject I felt it a major turn off while antiquing. The owners had mummy caskets against the wall, a headless mannequin with a long black grieving dress to greet you and tables chairs and camera/tv equipment set up in what one would see preparing for a seance. It was distasteful and eerie. Antiques or ghost talks not both. I elected not to purchase my finds. We antique all over the country and have never encountered a set up like this. Probably not a big deal for some but for me it is a marketing move that takes away from from each other. I would have enjoyed each so much more if they hadn't been co-mingled.

Of course Barry is well known for is wonderful store, Golden Lane, you will always find a treasure when visiting. Recently my friend and I did the ghost tour and thought that was really something to see. On our visit this past weekend we did our very first channeling session with Barry and Barbara. Wow -- was amazing to say the least. Connecting with a dear friend and a loved one, both of whom have recently passed was a very poignant experience. The things that came through were things that only we knew. Bring a box of tissues with you you will need them!! Truly an unbelievable experience!! Would highly recommend. Thanks Barry and Barbara.

Golden Lane has something for everyone - from high end antiques to fabulous more wallet friendly treasures. It is a huge 3 level building that you could easily spend all day in. The owner, Barry, his wife Connie and all the other staff (hi Susie) are friendly and helpful. At night, be sure to reserve space at one of Barry's sessions that will turn you from a skeptic to a believer in spirits, ghosts, fairies, etc. Barry has spent enormous amounts of time researching and learning about paranormal activity. He has mountains of photographs taken at Golden Lane and on the Gettysburg battlefield which very clearly show orbs and other unusual images. Fascinating. His books are available for sale and are full of stories and images that are simply amazing. After attending a session with him (and if you're lucky Barbara a psychic, will be there too) you will, at the very least know the energy in the room is different but hopefully you will believe someone else is around you. The other session is with the use of a spirit board and is with Barry and Barbara - this will absolutely make you say WOW - can make you cry or laugh or both depending on who the spirit guide allows to visit . In my case, a friend who had passed last December spoke to us through the board. Only things that she and I and another friend could have known were answered correctly using this board. She was right there with us.Stay at the wonderful Chestnut Hall Bed and Breakfast in New Oxford and walk to Golden Lane - it's an experience you won't forget. There is nothing bad or evil that I have ever experienced in my many visits to Golden Lane so although the sessions are not scary, they can be jaw-dropping!

I was told about this place at the international museum of spirits in gettysburg and thought I would like to at least look at the antiques. They have a football field worth of antiques to look at and you will find something you like there were so many things to choose from. However we were there for the ghosts. We went there in January 2012 and the owner gave us a tour of the downstairs where he gives the presentation. It was awesome as soon as he turned the lights off you could see orbs flying into the.mirrors out of the mirrors I even saw a shadow pass by the room we were in. It was so cool. I didn't think I was going to be so impressed. This man has done his homework. He is very knowledgeable and has lots to offer. If you are a skeptic or you want to see something with your own eyes please go hers and do one of his events. Also there was a medium there and she was right on the money with what she was picking up. There was something standing behind her the whole night. It was much colder in that spot and every now and then you could see an orb or mist behind her. Anyway I think all the paranormal events had me rather excited but if I had to.pick the best thing about the place it would be the owners and their staff. Everyone was pleasant and answered any questions we had. Whether it was paranormal or about the antiques we were interested in. Very fun place to go not one bad experience there. Thanks Barry and Barbara for the fun!
