Very underwhelming experience especially for the price.$25 for two people to gain entrance. We finished the red trail, the longest excursion in under 45 minutes. It's not that this isn't a cool outdoor place, but the trails are kind of boring and generic and the falls aren't really anything special. not much in the way of views either.I'm still trying to figure out if this is a privately run property or state run, because it certainly isn't worth the $12.50 per person admission fee. After we finished the trails, I just thought to myself how much of a rip off it was. I'm not really sure what we even paid for.Compared to say Alishan Mountain in Taiwan, which is $5 USD entrance fee, well there really isn't any comparison. And we came a day after heavy rainfall and we had to wait in line for 45 minutes just to buy a ticket.
Bushel Falls is a very beautiful place, lots of lush scenery and the hike is well worth it. The steps can be a little tricky to maneuver with very young kids, but they will enjoy the falls. The loop around isn't too long but can get a bit backed up on a hot summer day. I recommend going early morning before the heat and crowds. You will love it!
There were clearly constructed steps and bridges giving you the best views of the waterfall with easy access. We went right after a huge rain-storm so the steps were a little wet but it was still so beautiful!
Being born and raised, back in the day, about 3 miles from Bushkill Falls, it was my first job and spent many weekends riding my bike to and from this beauty.
There are different routes you an take visiting different falls. We were with young children so we did the easiest route and enjoyed it tremendously.
was a wonderful day trip, we walked with all the kids, they all loved it, some parts were boring but all around was nice. It is a lot of walking only do it if all are able to walk. May be easier to do it backwards.I do recommend it
Busk Kill Falls is beautiful, has great trails, bridges, Water Falls, is Scenic, (birds and other wild life). It is a safe venue, for tourist and locals, to commune with nature. Aramark has done a great job maintaining the Park all year round including the off closed season November to April. The park takes a great beating when it is closed for the Winter and Early Spring. Yet Aramark has taken great care of the bridges, trails, and structures. In fact the park went through several severe storms over the past decade. Yet, the owners have always made COMPLETE repairs / and IMPROVEMENTS (All Year Round Maintenance). Moreover, the park has well marked trails, is safe, has warning signs and rules signs, and is patrolled by Park Rangers. The park has Several Stores, with beautiful gifts, CDs, souvenirs, postcards, candy, food, and a newly renovated eatery. Moreover, there is a gold rush station, lake, paddle boats, covered eating area, picnic area near lake, and bathroom area. There is a Native American Display, Lenni Lenape, including a full size Long House, display of model full size family, interactive displays, and CD' playing Native American flute music, in which the Park employes have changed for me (to help me decide which CD to purchase) The display really brings you back when the Lenni Lenape lived in NJ/PA, CT, and NY, before the arrival of the Europeans. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. The Admission Rates; 2014, Adults: $12.50 / day; Seniors (Ages 62 and older): $11.50 / day; Children (Ages 4 through 10): $7 / day; Children (Ages 3 and younger): Free, well worth the price. The park is easy to get to from I80, and enjoyable for repeat visits. ]The park is perfect for me; Vegan, Environmentalist, Hiker, Interest in Native American culture, Historian (BA) History, and (MA) Eduction, outdoors person, and adventurous. I have been to Poconos, Pa five times since 2008, and all of the trips included Bush Kill Falls. The last trip was 5/2014, and three of the five day trip were spent at Bush Kill Falls from open to close. Bush Fill Falls is always the center of my visits to the Poconos. I highly recommend going to Bush Kill Falls, Family visit, no children.
Take water, a camera, comfortable shoes and take it all in. A great hike through some very picturesque sites. Be sure to take your time and try all the trails if you have time. The trails are well marked but be sure to get there early as crowds pick up in the afternoon.
Great place for a day trip in the Poconos. The falls and grounds are beautiful and I loved that there were several different trails to follow based on length/hiking experience. You could spend an hour or the whole day there, depending on how much you wanted to do and see. There are paddleboats for rent and picnic areas. Bushkill Falls in the Fall was especially nice!
Magnificent falls..high and sparkling in the autumn sun. This can be a physical experience, but it also has a less strenuous possibility. The area is large enough that you can feel alone and away-from-it-all even on a busy day.Surprisingly uncommercial for a commercial enterprise.
Seeing Bushkill Falls for the first time is amazing. This is one of the places I bring visitors to the Poconos area.
Age sixty and slight asthma but I did it. It is so beautifulthere are picnic areas and a small food establishment.there were places to rest as you were climbing stairs. Not for people in wheelchairs.
First time at Bushkill Falls for the family and definitely not the last. We're already thinkin about goin back with a big group. Gorgeous natural place- reminds you of a Disney World adventure set but this is the real deal! Kids of all ages will love it as will couples. Very friendly staff as well.
Spent the day hiking with my son and family. My grandsons were 9 and 6; they loved every minute! It was a beautiful day; and I was amazed at how easy the hike was, and how well kept the grounds were. The walkways and stairways are very accessible, and very well built and maintained. The different level hiking trails were very well marked. The falls were beautiful, and we spend hours playing along the rocks and water.
The falls were spectacular, the hike was great. Love this place. We were glad there were refreshments, food, souvenirs available as many places close those things after Labor Day.
