Hyner View State Park is simply breath taking. A little diamond in the middle of no where! Motorcycle enthusiasts will find the riding in surround area amazing. Spend a few days or a week in the area and you will be coming back for years to come!

We took our car up the paved, winding road to get to this beautiful, high view of a river valley in Sproul State Forest. Bring your camera. The views from this high point viewing area are wonderful! I'm afraid of heights, and there was no problem with being able to see the vistas.

Yep, the view is out-of-this-world. Really neat to watch the hand/hang gliders. But, after reading several reviews, it appears that many of you missed the park on the bottom of the mountain. Hyner Run offers a fantastic swimming pool that is FREE! Most of PA's state parks have beaches along either a lake, pond or stream, a few have actual swimming pools, even fewer offer them at a no-cost entrance. And guess what else, since no one seems to know the pool is there, most of the time there are very few people there. The picnic areas or nice, wooded and offer a BBQ pit. Park is about a half hour away from Lock Haven, in Clinton County, and about 10 minutes outside of Renovo. Perfect place to spend a quiet weekend. Come on PA - get out there!

This weekend we went up to Hyner Run State Park. This park is only about a half hour outside of Lock Haven. We had a girls bible study trip one night and then George’s birthday party the next. The cabin sleeps 8 and is only $120 a night for PA residence and $73 for weekdays on non-peak season.While we had plans to go up to Hyner view and go outside, both nights we just talked and ate. The kitchen was well equipt! Even a coffee pot, toaster oven, microwave, and ice maker! Everyone was impressed when they walked in the door. The dinning room would be a great place for a craft of scrap booking night.At the cabin was a notebook that included some of the people who stayed in the cabin the past couple years. Many returned visitors. There were great stories and a poem from a little girl. We added our little story to the book too.For George’s Birthday I bought out the “Show your Disney Side” decorations. Our little girl loved the balloons. The Disney decorations were nice because they were easy to pack.View Images of the Cabin and Trip on XpeditionGirl.

The view is beyond words. Takes a bit of a drive to get there but let me tell you, its worth it! From what we understand the weekend to visit may just be the first weekend of Oct as this is when the hand gliders are there and "jump" off the edge of the lookout.

If you want to see a breathtaking view and watch the hang gliders take off you should definitely stop by this park. Outside of that, there's not a whole lot for you to do. More suited for a romantic picnic than a day in the wilderness.

This park offers a fantastic view from the lookout area. Your are looking down into a beautiful valley with a river running through and a long bridge passing over the river. We were lucky enough to see Hang Gliders taking off from the top of this mountain. This State Park is know for the Hang Gliders launching from this mountain. We visited In October 2012, and we loved this area so much a larger group is returning this year. It looks like we will get lucky again this year, because the hang gliders will be at the park on Oct. 10-13, 2013. We also travel another hour and stay at Benezette, PA for elk viewing. The Elk Viewing Visitor Center is absolutely fantastic.You can take a horse drawn wagon tour from the Visitor Center and go right out in the middle of the herd (if the elk are in that area). This is a really cool part of Pennsylvania to visit, with some really cool things to do and enjoy.

Beautiful vista. Allows you to feel on top of the world. Great place to have a picnic in the woods. Best view when the leaves are changing. Easy to get to. Downside is the pit toilets, but they are clean

Although it is in a remote location, it is well worth finding!! The view is incredible. You will not be disappointed!
