Stopped by for a tasting on a very busy Saturday afternoon. We hadn't been back here in a few years. Very nice restored barn, and great deck outside (although being January we stayed inside). Despite being very busy, The owners were very friendly and down to earth. We sampled seven wines and enjoyed them all, but were very surprised by the excellent quality of the red wines. Definitely the best of the PA wines we've tasted. Highly recommend stopping here for a tasting and to stock up.
My wife and I have done the wine trails in NJ and PA and Black Walnut is one of the best wineries we've visited. Their reds are particularly good and their Port style wine is excellent. The patio behind the tasting room is comfortable as is the patio below. On the weekend we were there they had a few different bands and a pizza truck. We had our portable chairs and table with us and ourselves up on the lawn under a shady tree. Couldn't beat it. Good wine. Good music. Total relaxation.
We stopped at their Phoenixville location. We had some time to kill before a dinner reservation. Great little stop. We got to sample 7 wines. Our pourer was very informative. There were a couple unique wines some we liked and some we didn't. We did walk out with half a case so I would definitely reccommend stopping in.
These owners have 2 locations & events are split between the 2 wineries. Owners are friendly, usually have good music, decent food you can buy when there's an outdoor event. very good variety of wines. most of the time it's adults only which I really like!
I brought my family to this winery while on vacation and unbeknownst to us it was during Blues Festival which was a perfect family event. My husband tasted the wines which took a while given how busy it was but he said they had good wines which he thought were better than those on Long Island where we taste near our home in Brooklyn. He also mentioned that he got to taste a lot of wines and it was not expensive plus the person doing his tasting was very knowledgeable. As he did that, my son and I grabbed a table outside and listened to live blues. You could buy a bottle and have them open it for you, get a bucket of ice and order pizza. Many people had blankets out and about and brought food with them. If you're in this area for Memorial Day, I'd highly recommend.
was there for a tasting, done nicely onlt regrets is they are not opened that frequently, wine were taste and served correctly
My daughter and I visited the winery as part of a corporate getaway weekend. The weather was beautiful that weekend and the winery had a lot of charm. It is a converted bank barn but which has kept much of its original construction and colonial charm. The ownersaddressed our group told us all about their wines, how they are grown and their tastes and qualities. The wine sampling of about a dozen different wines was delicious and fun and I won a bottle of wine as a result of their wine "quiz". There is an indoor/outdoor area for parties and events. It is a nice way to spend an sun filled afternoon.
