This is a great place to take the family to see a baseball game. The prices are very reasonable and they always seem to have some specials going on. The best place to sit is on the deck.
a few tweaks here and there have dragged this lovely relic at least into the late 20th century, without disfiguring the old-world nature of this wooden-sided, gorgeously configured ballpark... baseball stadiums are unique in that if they were properly designed, they wrap their arms around you, and bowman field is oh, so easy to love... fun to catch a high school or small-college game here, as well, when the prices are even lower
While this is a distance from our home ( 4 hour ride ) we discovered this place in 2007, the staff , the players were all as nice as can be. The ticket prices are dirt cheap and the food is quite good and of course the action on the field is top notch. Many greats have played on this field and ( I believe ) this is one of the oldest ballparks in the nation but it has the most welcoming feel to it. We love this place
We enjoyed the game we attended. We did find the box seats to be a little tight, but it is an old stadium. Be careful to pay cash for your tickets as there is a surcharge for using your credit card!Parking is free and the concession prices are reasonable. A fun night out in Williamsport!
We had an enjoyable evening of baseball at Bowman field. This is a family affordable place that puts you up close to the action on the field. The parking is free. It is the way baseball should be.
My husband is a huge Phillies fan and enjoys visiting the farm teams. The ballpark was clean and enjoyable. I recommend the Lumberjack sandwich.....delicious!
Susquehanna Bank Park at Historic Bowman Field is a small, iconic ballpark with a big, corporate name. Despite the lengthy title of the ball yard, this tiny house of history is what baseball should be all about. The seating area is true to that of all older ballparks in that it provides a roof, one which does such a wonderful job of projecting noise. The sightlines and general visibility can be slightly altered at times because of structural poles. Again, think older ballpark. The access to the game and the players themselves is virtually unmatched in minor league baseball. The seats are located close to the field. In fact, many of the lower box seats leave the spectator looking up at the pitchers mound. This adds to some other unusual traits. The dugouts lie further from home plate than any that I have ever seen. It is a long walk back to the bench, made more so by a particularly bad at bat.Parking is easily accessible and mostly free of charge. Tickets themselves are reasonably priced as are the concessions. For a baseball fan looking to enjoy a really relaxing night of the nations pastime in a historic baseball town with a park to match, this is really the place to do it.
Family always enjoys our outings to the ballpark. The Crosscutters organization is very fan friendly. Admissions and food price are very reasonable. Not only are there numerous promotions throughout the season, there are numerous contest for the fans every night. If you are in the area during the Cutters season and you like baseball, a game at Historic Bowman is not to be missed.
Baseball as it should be, inexpensive, good seats, local community cheering on the team. food not that expensive, entertaining things between innings.
We're big Phillies fans, and had to see this minor league affiliate in action. We went on a Saturday night. The stadium is extremely small. The concession stands have a great variety of food at very good prices. The beer selection was limited but good. The team store was running a special on hats and t-shirts the night we were there. BOGO on each. Can't beat that!General admission tickets afford a great view of the game. In-game entertainment is led by Crosscutter staff and Boomer the mascot. This is small-town American baseball at it's best.
Bowman Field is a great place to catch a game and have a relatively inexpensive meal for the family. The planned additions will make it an even better park.
I have been to major league games before, but I found this one to be much more enjoyable. The mascot gets much more involved with the audience and does a great job at entertaining not only the kids but the adults as well. Food is average price but tastes good!
We stopped in Williamsport one night and decided to go to a game. The tickets were cheap and the seats were fine. We met some friendly people in our section who told us some good restaurants to go to In the area. The game was fun. We took our son and we enjoyed ourselves. The stands have a roof so we did not have problems with sun, rain or even bugs that night. The entertainment between innings was our favorite part. There is even fireworks after the games. We noticed many fans in attendance. It's good, clean fun for the whole family.
fun night out for the family watch the game and play the 50/50 food is good and drinks are a good way to unwind
the crosscutters' bowman field is a lovely, old (emphasis on old) ballpark actually visible in all its peak-roof glory to traffic passing southbound on Route 15... big, very visible wooden fences with acoustics all their own... the scoreboard, for the record, used to belong to the buffalo bisons... parking a little dicey but you get what you pay for (free) and some of the higher-priced seats, right down by the ballpark, apply a funeral-home numbness to the nether regions... concessions, well, ordinary... but we love it, will even catch a high school game here if possible..
