Was glad to be able to visit the museum. It is very small but is worth the $2 fee for the self guided tour. It takes about 1/2 hour.
It was a very informative and entertaining tour. It takes you through the building to see where the troopers train. You also get to see the history behind the state police. You need to make reservations since it is a private tour. I would highly recommend visiting here.
My father is a retired PA State Policeman, so my husband and I went to check it out. The museum is informative, but very small. The store also carries PSP tee sorts and mementos. You can also watch the cadets training if they are outside, which is very interesting. This is a nice little excursion.
Highly disappointed! We visited this museum with our children, who were very excited to learn more about PSP history. The ladies who are running the store didn't bother to greet us, so we went into the very small museum, and were through everything in less than 20 minutes. The lady in the store could barely look up to take our money as we came out. We wanted to ask a few questions, and were told there was no one to answer. Again this lady could not be bothered with us, except to take our money. Needless to say, our kids were very disappointed. A total waste of money. We could have found out more looking online.
I remember watching an episode of Mystery at the Museum and this museum was mentioned in relation to a lottery scam that the PSP managed to break. The museum is on the grounds of the PSP training academy and it is housed in a small building that sells clothing and items. It is a small museum but if you take your time and watch the videos and listen to the presentations there is a lot of information presented in a very small space.
