Stopped for a few samples of the beer. really enjoyed the seasonal "Mad Elf". Also had some food at the brewery which was very good. The place is huge with plenty of seating and a nice view of the brewing operations. You can also get beer growlers filled by their high tech filling machine. Nice family environment.

My husband and I took the guided tour - so worth the $5! You get to see the whole process, taste beer along the way (I think we tried 5 kinds), and you get a souvenir glass at the end. Definitely do it! Had lunch at the tasting room after. We were there at midday Friday so no issues with crowding. Try the grilled cheese! But be warned: it is HUGE. Fries are yummy too and you get a ton. Had delicious chocolate stout for valentines. Definitely visiting again sometime!

Troegs Brewery is a great stop. I would recommend taking the tour, but you will need to make reservations ahead of time. They are usually booked months out. (It is that popular!) Their state of the art facility is impressive. They have a nice tasting area but is usually packed with people. The beers are very popular and they have a vast array of different types. They have a five star chef preparing food at the cafe. You won't believe the menu! Moderately priced with exceptional quality. This is a fairly new facility but they seem to be already growing out of it. Two things for them to address in my opinion. Better parking area. It is a nightmare getting in and out of this place. The tasting facility is acoustically so loud you can't hear yourself think. They cannot have music in the facility because it is so bad. They are aware of the problem, but without major renovations to the facility is not an easy fix.

We went there on a Wednesday afternoon and suprisingly there was quiet some business going on. The Taproom is very big but still nice and does have a spot for everybody.

Yes, families can come here as they have high chairs but any place that is find your own table with people entering from various locations just seems like an unkidfriendly eating establishment. People were downright nasty about getting tables. I would not go here with my kids (ages 5 & under). Went with a reserved tour group of 10. Tour was good but end beer tasting was of course the highlight. One group member didn't feel well so she waited for a table and then the rest of the group joined her when the tour was over. In the time she "held" a table she was verbally abused multiple times by two different fathers age ~50 with younger children (clearly poor examples for their kids using profanity) and one of the mothers as well. During this time she ordered a sampler which was not delivered for over 40 minutes. When she told the waitress she thought she forgot about her the response was "nope" and the waitress turned and walked away. Note: this sampler never appeared on the group's bill. Also if this sample had been delivered would she have been harassed as much? Who knows with the rude people there but a table with beer on it probably would have appeared better than an empty table with one lone woman sitting at it. You order only beer at the tables with waitstaff. All food is a counter type service were you order and get a buzzer that goes off when your order is up. Food is odd but very good. Items eaten and given 2 thumbs up were the pot roast (served oddly in a mason jar), pretzels (rave reviews for the cheese sauce even though rather thin consistency), popcorn, grilled cheese (most got this), and a few other sandwiches. Everyone enjoyed the food they had.Beer is a very personal thing. Some women were not big fans of any (fruity beer drinker and a corona light only gal) but most found something to partake in.It is a shame that some random nastiness had to disrupt the evening but all in all this is a recommendation for food and beer for the over 12 crowd. If you have young kids go to Red Robin or something.

While on a recent visit to Hershey I visited Troeg's brewery as I am a craft beer fan. I sat at the bar, ordered a beer flight, and lunch. The food was above-average gastropub food and the beers I sampled were excellent. Prices were very reasonable; I hail from Philadelphia so perhaps I am more accustomed to "big city" prices. The ambience of the brewery was boisterous. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their product line. Gift shop was well-stocked. If I lived in the area, I would be a frequent customer.

We paid the $5.00 for the guided tour through the brewery. The guide, Christine, was full of knowledge and made the tour very interesting! A few samples at the end with extra knowledge of when the special brews will be released. Had a great time! Packed restaurant with a great menu is the perfect way to spend an afternoon.

The brewery was small but built to encourage visitors. I picked up a glass of Pale Ale and we walked along the line to see beer being made and bottled. They have a little restaurant in there too, along with a gift shop. Was a fun trip and the beer was tasty.

We did the self-guided tour with our two kids, which literally took about 5 minutes, but afterwards, we got lunch there, and the menu is quite extensive on food, with all of their beers available for sampling as well (for a fee). I'd definitely encourage a lunch visit here.

This is an active brewery with tours and such. Beer lovers ( I am not one ) gather here for great innovations in flavor. But the big surprise is the HIGH quality food that is served in self service cafe. I mean this chef has created his own sausages, rosemary popcorn, lamb burger, codfish cake, etc. etc. etc. Go for the beers but don't miss the food. Delicious!

We went to buy up as much Mad Elf as they would let us purchase as we are often limited here in NJ to one six pack or two and often priced high. So we drove to the brewery took the tour which was very informative not to mention the small samples were delish. Then we sat at the bar had a great tasting and filling lunch with a beer prior to driving home with our 10 cases of Mad Elf. It was busy by the time we left. The bartenders were in the weeds. If I had any recommendation it would be to have one person non bartender type filling growlers as it looked a manager type came behind to start assisting in that manner but it was a little too late. Really a must go if you are a beer person and a foodie. They do a really nice job. Take the long private tour not the self tour. Subsequently I went to their website and emailed them a question about how to get or borrow the Mad Elf cardboard cutout for our Mad Elf party this past weekend (what else are you going to do with 10 cases of Mad Elf) but they never responded to that inquiry. So maybe someone in the brewery store needs to up their game as I would have gladly paid to have my guests be greeted by the Mad Elf when they entered. Maybe next year.

You would not think this place would have such an eclectic menu....but they do: duck confit, poutine, charcuterie, baked cauliflower with gruyere and mushrooms...the list could go on and on. The best choice is to get a bunch of small plates and share. Everything was delicious but if you are looking for the usual pub fare, this is not the place to get it. Stretch your taste buds and try some of their delectable food, The menu changes a lot; hardly any of the same things were on the menu that were there when we visited in February. The beer is good and they have a nice selection. Be warned, this place gets crazy busy on weekends.

Excellent facility with a wonderful beer selection and great food. I absolutely love Nugget Nectar and Perpetual IPA and the Soft pretzel isn't half bad either!Always a couple of new Scratch Beers to try as well. (bring back the Mango IPA!)

this is a great stop while visiting hershey if you love beer...craft beer! we took the self guided tour...and then stopped in the gift store for unique xmas gifts. the "snackbar" menu is widely diverse and not your average snacks. everytime we come here the food is excellent with the pairings of beer. try the beer flight or a scratch brew. fav foods are the mussels, charcuterie or cheese boards from local farms, oktoberfest pretzel with mustard, madelf fondue from the small plates. large plates take on the gastropub fare. above all the beer us fantastic!

I'm new to craft beer, but really felt this was some of the best I've tried. Our server was very pleasant and informative, and we came away with a purchase. The shop is clean, neat and well organized, so it was easy to find what we wanted. We didn't do the tour or eat at the bistro, but I'm sure both would be worthwhile experiences.
