Always well maintained and lots of space to people to hang out, have a picnic, or walk on the beach.

Beautiful new pavilion for family gatherings or just a small group picnic. Lots of picnic tables & a great playground for the kids. Clean, new bathrooms. Very nice!

we were taking US 23 for a scenic drive to mackinaw city....this was a perfect spot for us to stop and have lunch...nice covered pavillion, and the beach was clean.. restrooms had just been cleaned, also, so we didn't use them with fear and trepidation....

Clean and nice :) Nice walkway and plenty of benches to rest on. There also are many play area and equipment for children.

Clean, great play equipment, new looking restrooms. Nice wide beach with a great view. If they keep enough wood chips under the play equipment in the future this will remain a great beach for Kids.

Nice little beach with a great play area right on Lake Huron. My grandkids had a blast playing in the water and looking for fossils. I was lucky enough to find a nice Petoskey Stone :) The beach was neat and clean with room for chairs and towels without being crowded. There is several restaurants nearby if you want to do a picnic. We stopped at the Dairy Queen less than a block away.

We were impressed with the cleanliness of the beach. The sand was freshly raked with very little rocks. The water is clean and shallow. We were about 300 yards out and the water was at our waist. Love that I could see the bottom. They have indoor bathrooms which were very clean. A nice playground for the youngsters. A covered pavilion with many picnic tables. Lots of grass and trees off the beach for those who prefer the shade. Within walking distance of many restaurants.

It was so good to see that the city of Alpena finally updated/rebuilt the restrooms & added new playground equipment & a pavilion to Starlite! Was very impressed that it was more beautiful than I remember as a kid here. Wasn't warm enough to swim yet but the beach, grass, sidewalks etc. were well maintained and really, when you think about it the view is worth it :)

Super nice and clean. Motels and a Dairy Queen within walking distance. Very impressed with it. I have been there three times in the last three years. Will go again.

Never missed the Alpena fireworks on the pristine beach since I was a kid. I travel 5 hours every year for the 4th of July display. The swimming is great, great food nearby and friendly people.
