With the exception of about 4 greens, which were a little rough, this is a fun course to play. Several of the holes require thoughtful shot making, but it is wide open enough to accommodate players of all skill levels. I played with my wife and another couple and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed the layout. The one drawback is the pace of play. Waiting for most every shot on the back nine, led to a slightly more than 5 hour round.
I've golfed at Fieldstone for both fun and for work events and it's a fun and challenging course. They take pretty good care of the course and the scenery (trees, ponds, etc) add to the round (especially since you are right next to the Palace and near a huge landfill). The patio is nice and a great place to relax, have lunch and/or a drink. The food is typical for a golf course and their wraps are better than average. The only downside is the wait at times. Tee times are pushed back and they don't seem to do the best job ensuring a steady pace for all golfers.
Home of the five hour plus round of golf. What more can I say. Slow slow slow, rangers just seem to be looking for balls. I have played here half a dozen times with the same results every time, painfully slow golf. If you love slow golf this is the place for you. Never again for me.
We love eating here, but they aren't open all year long as they gear their hours to golfers. Our favorites are their Friday fish specials. They also have great sandwiches and the drinks aren't watered down at all. Service is great, view is great, as it overlooks the golf course.
I bought a round of golf from a discount website. I made a tee time and arrived plenty early. When we got to the pro shop to check in the guy behind the counter acted like I'd asked him to shine my shoes. He was rude and very unhelpful. The course itself was ok, but not worth the $50+ a round they get midseason. I will not return
The food is ok but what makes this place worth the trip is the outside patio with views of the course.Traditionnal american fares with sandwiches, burgers and decent salads.
Not bad for a quick 9. Easy access from the hotel and great prices. I would recommend giving them a try.
This course is always in pristine condition with well manicured greens and tee boxes. The fairways are well kept. The staff and restaurant are customer oriented.
Very nice course, my league plays here. Gordon is the head pro, and his lessons are great. They recently renovated a few holes (for the better) and the greens are always nice and true. Typical "risk vs. reward" Arthur Hills layout, complete with his huge greens and undulating fairways. Sand is plentiful, but not penalizing... really no water to speak of other than a stream running across a few fairways, and a small pond on the right side of hole #3. Keep it long and straight, and you'll have a nice round...the heather gets pretty high on some holes, and the woods are deep, so sprayed shots are usually lost.
Greens are smooth and hold a shot well. Putts roll with little bounce. Fairways are varied with some narrow and tree lined and others wide open. Traps and water hazards are well placed and sand is tilled daily. You will enjoy your round if you keep the ball in play.
I'm not the most avid golfer in the world and this place seemed pretty nice too me. Close, convenient too the main freeway I-75.
Food was just so-so and took a long time to arrive after ordering
