historic charlton park

Kid Friendly and there is a lot of education there! This is a pretty big place, so get ready to do a lot of walking!

We visited the historic Charlton Park Village and Museum today. The village is comprised of historical buildings moved to the site and carefully restored. Entering a building, visitors are in the midst of and up close to furnishings and artifacts of the time--1800's and early 20th century. In the museum, visitors are encouraged to try out items like a treadle sewing machine (no needle), an early washing machine, and a wood burning stove. The Park includes walking trails on 310 acres of rolling terrain and miles of river and lake frontage with a swimming beach and picnic areas. There is a boat launch too. And educational programs and special events.
