veterans memorial park

From May to October, Vet's Park is constantly busy with events. From fireworks to concerts to the River Roar, it is a hub for local events. It has a marina, restrooms, ball diamonds, tennis courts, and is close to numerous restaurants and adjacent to the Riverwalk. It is always a fun place to hang out.

A very enjoyable park. Bay City has created a beautiful setting to honor all Veteran's.The park has a waterway that is ready to fish, or just take a stroll along it's banks.Plenty of area to picnic, or sit and read a novel. Parking is spacious. Not to far from the main downtown area, yet far enough away to sit and relax.Bay City is definitely created a wonderful setting to watch the seasons!

Every town should have a place set aside to honor their Veterans. A spot where you can sit & enjoy the peace & serenity that was not part of your job when you were earning the title Veteran. Bay City has done that. They did well.

We went to the park as part of the Tall Sail Ships. The Apple Dore sailing down the Saginaw River out into Saginaw Bay. Once out on the open water, you can help the crew set the sails or relax and enjoy the view. We decided to just relax. Once back in the park it was every relaxing.

It is a good place to go for a solitary walk but if you are looking for excitement, you'll have to make your own.

Carnival, crafts, food, riverfront, riverwalk and BEST fireworks in the region...maybe the nation. It's safe, as there are security checks for weapons, fireworks, alcohol etc. Plenty of police presence. Safe for families. The Community Pool is wonderful and surprisingly lightly used. There are family passes for $13 daily and other cheap offers to give families a break. Bring your cooler for a lunch under the pavilion. check out of there for a while and take the river walk. It's a great time there. Clean showers, restrooms and chnaging rooms. Always lifeguards on duty. Can bring your own float toys too...not always allowed at public pools.

Stopped in for the kids to play in the park and playground. They also have miniature golf nearby and baseball diamonds.

I have been coming to this park since I was a kid. My favorite time to come to this park is the Bay City Fireworks Festival for the 4th of July its the best in the state. I enjoy walking on the riverwalk and taking pictures of the ducks and geese which i see everytime I am there.

We were here for a swim meet - great staff and nice, clean facilities. Careful to watch the 15mph speed limit since it was well enforced. Could use a bit more parking for larger events.

They now have a memorial for veterans in Vets Park. An old Vietnam era helicopter on a 5o foot pole, and a 'wall' with names on it. I spent a half hour going through the wall.

if you are going for the fireworks go early. Like morning early. Got a boat in a slip? Hit up Midland Street for parties.......Hooters may be right next to the marina......but everyone has hooters.....go for local fun!

It's a park. Has a nice play area for the kids and some ball diamonds and picnic areas. Primarily used for events so it has a lot of open area with nothing in it.

Visited here in November, was nice to walk around but would be beautiful in summer!
