My husband and I stopped here with our young son on our way to St. Joseph. This is a very informative and clean nature center. The employees were wonderful with our two year old. I can't wait to return in the summer to see the butterfly exhibit.

Great trails for summer and winter. We snowshoed on a school trip and the staff was excellent with both the children and adults. The additional indoor activities (viewing animals, reptiles, bees, etc. & games/puzzles) were an added bonus for the kids. We have visited several times as a family and have never been disappointed.

My family always enjoys a trip to Sarett! One of the most educational places we have in Berrien County. Every time we go, we experience something new or learn something about our area! Love this place. Great for families of all ages!

We had personal attention from the director emeritus who spent time showing us snakes, salamanders, frogs, and butterflies. He had so much knowledge and we felt really lucky to have had this experience with him as our guide. The walking paths are also beautiful!

There are lots of trails, fun for x-country skiing, and the environmental center is really fun. I have never been there in the summer, so I can't say if it is buggy or not.

While traveling, we came across the Sarett Nature Center. The admission fee is only $3 (additional fee for butterfly house). The property is beautiful, walking trails, water, treehouse spot make you feel like you are up in the tree tops, visitor center is interesting with helpful staff. Nice spot for a visit.

Don't miss this gem...Nature trails are not bug spray optional, buy good repellent and use it, its worth the effort.

A bit of a drive, but worth it. Sarett Nature Center is located near Exit-1 on I-196 in Benton Township. On our first visit we enjoyed only a mere fraction of what's available. However, we did visit the Butterfly House and a short walk out to the Treetop Platform. The Butterfly House did not disappoint. It is a mesh affair with dozens of types of butterflies - so many so that you need to watch your step. They provide you with a chart to identify these beautiful insects. The short hike into the woods took us out to the Treetop Platform - a raised affair that takes you out over a ravine, so that at its end you are 60-ft above ground. It's a might scary out there. The Nature Center itself has a gift shop with all sorts of nature books, classrooms, various viewing areas for watching birds and critters, etc. We joined via the family plan and intend to visit often to take advantage of the more extensive hiking trails.

A great nature center tucked away in the township. Mileage-wise, the trails aren't super long, but it's great for an afternoon hike and the variety as far as elevation and scenery is great; there's a walk-out area on one of the trails that has a fantastic view of the ravine below. In the winter the trails are converted for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. The snow shoes they have for rent are also pretty cool- they're traditional style and made at the center. The butterfly house costs extra, but is worth the couple extra bucks. The main building has a nice education center/event facilities with live animals (that always appear to be well taken care of) and other interesting stuff to look at. Birdwatching and other nature-type classes are also offered. For a fee-based natural area, the admission prices are very reasonable. Definitely recommended.
