I was invited to join a member at the Oakland Hills Country Club for brunch recently when I was in Troy for a business trip. The Club venue was beautiful, service exceptional, and the food very good. I felt like a special guest here, and wish I lived closer so I could repeat this experience again soon. I really liked that cell phones are not allowed to be used in the dining area. Everything was most enjoyable

Played this course a second time, on 08/24/2014. It was outstanding. It deserves every bit of its high rank in the various golf magazines. Incredibly challenging greens, tough rough, but still playable. Friendly staff, and a huge caddy program. This course is a real treat. Play it if you ever get the opportunity.

course was in great condition but not that challenging. Staff was rude, not helpful. Wouldn't play there again.

I went to the last Ryder's cup here. Facilities were great, despite the rain...a classic Club, beautiful with great history!

This golf course isn't on the ocean like pebble beach or a dunes style like pacific dunes. It's a old fashioned beautiful course. Out of all the tree line courses I've played, this one is probably my favorite. Very challenging so beware, it's called the monter for a reason. Extremely well maintained and the greens are extremely fast.

Oakland Hills is one of the most storied and celebrated golf courses in the world. Deservedly so. There are actually two great courses at OHCC - the South Course (better known as the Monster) and the underrated North Course which is also one of the top ten courses in Michigan.Every major championship that can be played there has been played there as well as the Ryder Cup and U.S. Amateur. At almost 7,500 yards with some of the most brutal greens in America, Oakland Hills will test anyone's game and nerves. As its designer Donald Ross once said, "God intended this to be a golf course."The 110,000 square foot majestic clubhouse is amazing. The halls are filled with almost 100 years of memorabilia and history. Since 1926, the world's top golfers have all tested their games at this incredible club. One stat says it all, "No player has ever shot under par four consecutive days in a row in the history of the club."Like Augusta and Pine Valley, if you ever get the chance to walk the hallowed grounds of Oakland Hills, DON'T PASS IT UP!!!

There for a chairitable event...the worst lunch I have ever been served anywhere...leek strada that smelled of leeks before it even got to our table. Will not eat there under any circumstances.

This is a members only club, so find someone and go. The main club house is very reminiscent of Old Money ... has a White House look and very stately. The two courses will challenge anyone which is why it has been host to many PGA championships including the US Open and Ryder cup.

Large undulating greens require local knowledge as well as a good eye to read the breaks. Your caddie can and should be relied upon to give you the line but you still have to hit the ball. Holes are long and it is often difficult to judge the distance to the flag because you rarely have a good view of the putting surface and the actual distance to the pin positions. Traps and water hazards make for some interesting approach shots and hamper your ability to make that par.

If you're a golfer you've gotta' play OHCC given it's history, the grand clubhouse and the challenge of trying to best the pros on a pro level course. Of course, as a mid handicapper I gotta' say the course is a challenge, probably too much of a challenge for me who doesn't always stay out of trouble and is used to putting on greens that aren't pro style. The rough is deep. The greens are fast and the lines aren't usually straight in. The maintenance is meticulous. You have to play it once. After that it's up to you whether your game says come back or stay away. Of course, it's private, so you need a member to get you on.

The clubhouse, the memorabilia, and the courses themselves take you back in time. A great historical place in the northern suburbs.

We celebrated a friend's wedding here in July, 2012. Classy place, friendly staff, well maintained golf course.

Attended a business conference in the clubhouse, but didn't actually get to play the course. Beautiful building and well maintained course. Probably worth the ridiculous cost of admission.
